What have you bought recently?

I beat my most loved tool for the yard to death and the handle split and said enough. My beloved Leaf Blower, has bit the dust and now rests in an unmarked grave, I hope the new one I ordered doesn't sense how much it will be used.

apparently chinese are Chit..... @Bretrick recently bought an MG.. and offloaded it quicksmart for another car.. I don't know if it was Chinese built, but he's the one to speak to...

According to whatcar.com.. the MG..all models came 34 out of 34.. for reliability

I think my MG was a lemon. Many times after stopping at an intersection and making a right hand turn it would drop out of gear and I would be left stranded in the intersection.
Dealer did not want to know anything about it.

Not surprised from what I've read... after looking on HC's behalf... 34th out of 34... in the whatcar.com ratings... that's pretty terrible...

I noticed they're the top selling car of Jan and Feb in the UK and can't quite believe it. Why would someone buy this horrific Chinese piece of junk, do people not research cars before they buy them?! Not only that but it's run by the Chinese state govt now, it's not a UK brand.

They’re cheap, very cheap. And people think they’re British still so they appeal to older people. They do come with a lot of tech too, I’ve currently got an MG HS sat outside as a hire car and it’s got adaptive cruise, lane keeping, automatic high beams, a panoramic sun roof, plus the usual Apple CarPlay
, heated seats etc.
None of it works very well mind, and the driving experience, seating position and ergonomics are all dreadful,

The latest batch, particularly the MG4 and the latest Zs EV, actually get decent write-ups AFAIK and are much cheaper than any of their rivals. They remain one of, if not the cheapest ways into a long-range EV to date.
Wouldn't ever buy one myself, but their prices put others to shame - even if they are, ultimately, crap. Especially seeing as they're rammed full of tech, even as standard.
