What have you bought recently?

I've been spending!

Today, bag of doggie snacks and bag of kibble, a large Boston fern to hang outside, 2 small pots basil to be repotted into my large pot, 2 small pots rosemary to also be repotted; 2 bags of soil and a purple and yellow hanging plant that I don't know where to put yet.

Just got a small Welcome sign for my door

Got these smart seal storage containers today. I saw them in the discount store.. discount ?? £11..each.....I couldn't believe it so I asked an assistant, and it was correct.. there;s no way I'd be paying that, and fortunately I knew that Asda ( supermarket) had them at £4.50 each so I got them... however the identical ones are on Amazon.. at £38..00 !! Just who is making all this money from these inflated prices..?

Also got 2 sleeveless swing Vest tops for summer ( in the house and garden ).. in Tangerine , and one in Black..

One bathroom faucet began to drip/leak. Looked for repair kit but none available for this really old set. So even though there is only one leaking, replacing both is going to happen. Bought two of these earlier today.

my thursday morning shopping run is such fun ;such a social event and full of chatter by some including me. the van can take one wheelchair bound individual and the rest are 6-8 seats. we all face forwards so chatter is sometimes disjointed and fun. I usually sit immediately behind the driver cos we are both 'whitefellas' and like to yarn. All the other are 'blackfellas" from varying shades and we all know each other and yarn when we can! The 'gang' varies but usually with no more than 2 WF's and the rest BF's - we all use these terms in this neck of the woods compulsory! not with pride or disdain just because that's the way it is.

Once we hit town and disembark at WW we all split up with the driver occasionally helping one of the less compus mentos ones to do shopping with them. Once finished we all get back on the van and drop off with a regular stop at bank and PO and then home James and don't spoil the horses. Henry and I are the last two remaining - me dropped off at my bush shelter [built as an add on to a garage which is approx 20ft X 45 ft - I look like part of a steel corrigated garage - and I am! and I have a mate living in his caravan at the other end of the garage - we're a bit like book ends of different design! when the 'blackfellas talk to each other we whities have no idea what they are saying but when we whities talk they can understand us and join in. we can in fact be dropped off anywhere as part of the journey - chemists ; chandlers store ; pension offices etc. Bit like goin to the seaside with no sea or sand!

Made a run to Aldi this morning. They had every item I needed in stock. Perhaps their supply chain woes are improving. Plus, several things were at a lower price than what I had been paying. Other grocery stores around here seem quite happy to maintain the higher prices. Thank you Aldi for passing on the savings to your customers. My order from Amazon also arrived today. I had ordered a walking cane - well, it's really considered to be a trekking pole but can be adjusted in length for walking or shortened to 18 inches to fit in a tote bag or large purse. I don't always use a cane but like to have one available if I encounter a situation (walking a longer distance or having to stand in line) where I might need one. I think this one will be just what I was wanting.

Late this afternoon all the kids, spouses and grands will come over for the annual tradition of painting a Mother's Day sign for me. It'll dry overnight and get hung tomorrow.

Grandson will be here today and we'll go to Aldi later this morning. Need a few groceries plus snacks for the painting crew. I'll check to see if my store has lowered prices on some of what I purchase there regularly, @J-Kat. 🤞

Aldi here while still recently ranked as the cheapest supermarket have raised their prices this last 12 months several times.. making less of a difference in pricing between them and all the other chains as there once was.

I've stopped going to Aldi for that reason. I could put up with Aldi not selling the same variety of foods as the bigger chains..being as I was able to get Milk at half the prices of the others.. and good quality bread for the same price as plastic bread in the others.. and so as I buy in Bulk, it saved a lot of money and I would buy my groceries there depsite less of a variety .

Now the milk and bread have risen almost double in price in 12 months and are selling at the same price as the Competitors, I no longer go there...and prefer to shop in Tesco, Sainsbury et al..and even Costco..

They're still lower priced than other supermarkets, but their prices have steadily risen here, too. Some have doubled or close to it, over the past couple of years.

Happy 5th Birthday, @pepper’s grandson.

A 5 pack of avocados and GV candy fruit slices. These are often sold out so guess they realized they could raise the price to $4.98. I think it was under $4. And yes they can raise the price because I still bought them. Not only that, I’m wasteful and throw away the yellow, green and purple.

My trekking poles arrived today. I ordered the wrong ones so that cost me $9.31 shipping to send them back. I ordered the correct pair.

I bought lots of asparagus again. Have to eat in while it’s in season.
