What have you bought recently?

they produce poisonous berries.
Nooooo! What’s it poisonous to? Birds? Cats? Dogs? I shall have to look this up . Important stuff here. I grew lilies for years only to discover they are very poisonous to cats and dogs. Thanks @RadishRose 🥰

@John cycling …. I had a huge rosemary bush and somebody scooped it. It was about 3 1/2 feet high. The smell was heavenly. Thanks John.🥰

This is a very good idea. I’ve never heard of Nandinas and zones 6 to 9 is in my zoning range. I am trying to stray away from red however winter time cranberry red, scarlet or pink leaves with white fluffy snow seems somewhat magical.

I have something positive to focus on.
Thank you for the suggestion. That’s a very good one.View attachment 287353
I think I like the foliage on this one the most. The foliage is nice and shiny looking. A bit of holly grown in between would not only look festive for the holidays but will help feed the birds in the winter time.

I LOVE seeing red trees and bushes. Oranges ones too, since it's my favorite color.

Update on one of my last purchases. The cat carrier is going back. It's very nice and of good quality but Deja didn't like being in there, even for a few minutes and she started crying, so I wouldn't go walking with her in it. Also It doesn't have much room for her to grow and didn't fit over the handle of my suitcase (one of the advertised features), making it basically useless for my purposes.

Rosemary is easy to grow, to propagate from cuttings and can form a nice green hedge.
it certainly is probably the easiest herb to grow. I had a Massive Rosemary bush in the garden at one time. I grew it from seed basically, and within a very short time it was feet high and at least that much wide...

My Bay tree.. ( shrub).. is 5 feet high now.. and probably 6 feet wide...

..and my Bay laurel is probably 30 feet high.. and 25 feet wide..

Beautiful plants.

Do you buy much online?

Do you prefer to shop in the brick & mortar stores...?

Did you recently get a great bargain, or feel you've paid too much for something ?

Come and share what you've bought in either ....

This week we bought a new Electric telescopic Pole tree saw.. .. which arrived today..alongside a gallon of oil for it..

Still waiting for half the order to arrive even tho' we paid for a specific date for delivery
A new toaster. My life is transformed.

Coffee! Since I've heard that due to weather conditions that the price will be going up. I like Maxwell House & the containers I bought from Amazon went up $1.00 each from 2 weeks ago. So, I bought 4 more containers (price is the same at Walmart now). Hubby likes Folgers Black Silk in the Keurig pods so I bought him a box of 100 from Sam's Club for Father's Day!!

At Sportsbasement, bought a $13 basketball to help reconnect brain to right shoulder muscle nerves. 17 months ago suffered a right shoulder rotator cuff injury that took 6 months to just raise my arm above my head. I used to be deadly accurate throwing things like rocks or baseballs but the injury sent that arm's coordination back to that of a 4 year old. Spent months doing things with my left arm.

So will be going to local park playgrounds and shooting balls that am expecting will help rewire those skills. I may be 74 but for the most part still have coordination and balance skills of a young athlete.

I didn't spend any money. Yet.

DD are going to our favorite foolishness store after while. They're closing (and our hearts are broken), but we don't know when. When we were there a couple of weeks ago, the discounts were mostly only 10%. We're going just in case there's anything left and at bigger discounts.

Bought a new combination lock document safe box... . .also my fire-pit cover arrived today from Temu.. I told you that I got it for £4.99 compared to the previous identical one on Amazon which is selling for around £15,.. but tbh I thought it might not be exactly the same in reality..well it was, and is.. so I'm happy about that..(y)

I did it. I spent $16 and it wasn't for flowers. I bought some French vanilla coffee pods for my Keurig because I like the brand (Victor Allen) and because I like a cup of coffee after work. In summer, I add a whole bunch of ice cubes for iced coffee.

There's nothing much left at the "everything" store that's closing except holiday decorations. I swear that when we were there a couple of weeks ago, holiday decorations were 50% off. Truly. I remember that. Today? 40%.

Last summer I got a new patio umbrella there for $25. They're on sale now. 30% off. Off what? $40. Nahhhh. Looks to me like they've raised the prices in order to mark them down.

I bought some teeth whitening gel and trays.
And, I bought one of those (chicken) egg carrying aprons for my cousin's 70th bday.

She's got about 10-12 chickens and think she's going to get a real kick out of her gift.

Should be arriving tmrw.
My apron just arrived this morning and it's absolutely adorable. Can't wait to get some fun doodads to put in it, or to load it with mini candy bars when the older grandkids come over.

yep that's usually what happens...

I ♥️ that apron. Wish I'd had one when I was a kid. One morning after I'd collected all the eggs, I came out of the chicken coop with the basket loaded and there was a porcupine waiting for me. In my rush to get the heck outta the way...scrambled eggs!

Spent money again💸. I bought some Irish Spring soap to put in the garden to deter the squirrels and other rodents, along with bunnies and deer. Mr. Google says it won't harm the birds if they decide to nibble on bird seed that falls to the ground below the feeder.

When it rains or when it's watered there will be a bubble bath garden. @hollydolly I didn't buy flowers, but technically the soap is a garden expense;)

And some SeaBond strips for my lower dentures. Exciting, right?

I'm telling ya! My shopping trips are sooo much fun.
