What have you bought recently?

Also no way am I paying for prescription sunglasses also. I got some ugly fit overs. They work.

Me too. This time I also got the light adjusting feature in my glasses. It helps me but takes some getting used to when walking from outdoors to inside. It’s especially ‘fun’ when the glasses stay dark and frost up going inside on a winter day.

Some of our opticians do a continual offer of 2 frames for the price of one..over £69.... you can get any prescriptions done together for the one price.. so I always get my reading glasses and my distance sunglasses done for the one price.. I don't ever choose the cheapest frames, because I usually don't like the style.. so mostly I pay for frames around the £100 mark.. which means I get 2 for that price... of course then I have to pay for the thinning.. and the non-scratch etc.. so that bumps the price up significantly..

I have yet to try ordering sunglasses with the online specs sellers.. I might have a look at that later and see what kind of styles they have...

I bought a garlic press to bring my Amazon order up to free shipping status. They charged me for shipping anyway. (I didn't bother to read the fine print.) It hasn't arrived yet, but it is supposed to be good for ginger as well. If it works, I will be happy.

I'm gonna go buy a larger aquarium for my 3 goldfish today.

They're actually Paxton and the twins' goldfish, but I bought them, of course, and they live here.

Paxton named his Binx. Binx has more than doubled in size since I bought them just a few months ago. He's at least 4" nose to tail. The other two are growing, too, but Binx is growing a lot faster, so I'm guessing he's the oldest.

We bought an electric recliner for our living room.

Before it was delivered ,almost canceled it,, as thought it would be too big.

It's big & heavy,, will get stronger person to help move it around.

We both like & have had naps in it.
when you get your person to move it to where you want it.. get them to put furniture sliders underneath. then you'll be able to move it yourself if you need to in the future...

I went to Walmart and Aldi yesterday. Stocked up on dog food, sodas, along with some potato chips and bread at Walmart.

At Aldi stocked up on trash bags, freezer bags and foil. They have the best price I have found but of course the cost is now almost double what it used to before Covid. I went ahead and picked up enough to last 3 or 4 months, seems prices are still rising on so many things.

Big dog also got a new mat to sleep on beside my bed. He has a big fluffy one in the den but has decided he wants to sleep in my room at night.

I have found it can be hard to find that free shipping button when checking out of an Amazon cart. Even if everything qualifies.

A digital scale, a new toilet brush, some sewing machine needles, trash can for bedroom, a plant, replacement window candle, a jicama and a piece of ginger, and some diabetic test strips. Went on a "I need" quest yesterday.
Oh, and gas and an iced toasted almond Dunkin coffee.

Are you able to have visits with Paxton since his mother's rights have been terminated? (I'm recalling correctly that she's out of his life, yes?)

Can you post examples of the type you buy?
sure... you need to buy specific ones for either carpet or for hard floors... one won't work on the other.. ...or they might but not as well..

Carpet furniture sliders. these are for carpet..

..and these are for hard floors...hard floor sliders

However there are all different types and prices available..some are very small some are large.. the ones I use are around 4 inches square... you can also buy small round ones which come already sticky backed and you can put them onto coffee table or chair legs .. so they stay on at all times..

Yes. Her rights were just terminated last week (finally!). He and the twins live with a couple who plan to adopt them. They came out of the blue a few months ago. They bring the kids over to visit me once or twice a month, which is great, because they don't have to. They do it because the kids' previous caregivers said it was crucial to Paxton's well-being.

I'm so happy for all of you! How wonderful and insightful of their previous caregiver to recognize the strength of your bond and for their new family to respect and encourage it.

Your gentle insistence on staying in Paxton's life has been so admirable. It would be hard to write a happier ending that that chapter of the children's lives.

Believe it or not, Starsong, Paxton started kindergarten this week! He hit the *Big 5* last month.
