What have you bought recently?

Solar lights have been delivered and have already been hung in the garden. It's overcast today so what little charging is done won't last very long after dark but enough for me to enjoy them before bed.

One has angels, one butterflies and one hummingbirds.

I'm a happy camper.

There was also 2 funky pink ones. One said: TASTY the other one HEAT ME. And we've packed the freezer. Tonight having pizza, tomorrow night, it's a fryup. Saturday, a donner special as we found a frozen pack of Donner Beef.

Sunday, haven't decided yet. Monday seafood mix and mash kind of sea cottage pie with a creamy light dill sauce.
 

I bought two 64GB USB flash drives as gifts for the kids. These are ruggedized, and good to wider temperature extremes than typical products of this type. So they are able to be left in the car with far less chance of being destroyed by winter or summer.

So anyway... a good price since they're an older USB 2.0 model and not especially speedy. Great for music though, and most car USB ports are still 2.0 anyway. An easy stocking stuffer item.

When they arrived I thought it was odd that they were boxed. I'd bought a pair years ago and those came in a blister pack.

Today I opened a box, and it had four units inside! By ordering just two... I received eight of the things! And now I'm trying to thread a path through the web site to allow me to return just the 6 extras and not both boxes. So far no luck and a phone call got me nowhere.
 
I've found some of these extruded shoes to be reasonably comfortable and often they fit well. Durability doesn't seem to be there though, and just wearing them daily in artificial environments (indoors, city sidewalks) breaks them down pretty quickly. Support goes first, then insoles delaminate and twist into rags, back of the shoe rolls down behind the heel, and tread wears away in short order.

Maybe people with a pair for each day of the month don't notice this?
 
Lunch. I have been heading out each day for long walks by the beach. Afterwards my walks are capped by some late lunch that serves as dinner for the day as well. The weather has been cooperative here as well. Nice to have a quiet lunch in my car parked beneath a quiet street's tree lined parkways while watching people and cars wiz by.

I'd heard reports that a lot of beaches are being fenced off and entry fees charged out there. Maybe that was just in some places, maybe even in and around events. Don't you do air shows over the water there, to limit the impact of the inevitable crashes from time to time?
 
A new houseplant to replace my royal palm. My old one lasted for quite a few years and I miss it.

I tried those..I think they must fit mens' shoes better than womens... My husband had to trim them and rethread them through the magnet to get them to fit my trainers ... so I didn't buy any more

You heard wrong. All California beaches are free and open to the public. If private homes butt up against the beach, public access is still permitted to the "high tide" zone. Sometimes the only way to get to the beaches is via an adjacent beach, but all of our beaches are public.
 
Bummer....just tried to buy my sis a refurb laptop from Dell,
but cannot order by phone any more, and when I tried online

It takes me forever to order online. 🧐
Especially if it's a first time site.
