What have you bought recently?

I am Curious.... if the twist-ties are wrapped in some manner,
(very tightly and uniform?)
that would be obvious to the cautious eye, (if we choose to deliberately examine them)
whether or not, some passer-by had untwisted and re-twisted them?

I'd also wondered if the rule about the ingredient stickers not being used for that dual purpose, is possibly due to some requirement that the ingredients list could still remain readable, after it's opened?

Even if so, I'd prefer that they do use some type of sticker or seal, a different one if wanted, while they are set out in displays at busy stores.
Can't say how twist ties are wrapped because I don't pay close attention. A lot of bread loaves are sealed with a little plastic tabs - not hard to take it off and put it back on.

If I were the type to worry, my biggest concerns would be with intentional and unintentional produce, fast-food, restaurant food contamination.

I didn't spend any money because when my shift is over, I'm too tired to be bothered.

Wayfair keeps emailing about their big sales, but I'm tighter than bark on a tree and don't want to spend money or get a bill for using the Wayfair credit card.

I bought a monitor stand for the desk in the other room where my Laptop is situated . The room used to be my estranged O/h's office room.. so it only occurred to me the other day to take my laptop up from the livingroom where it lives and put it in the other room.. *duh*, I'm so sharp I could cut myself... :D

The desk is black so I got the black stand...

Yesterday bought a Bob Weir with Wolf Bros ticket to the next Sunday evening, 10/29/2023 concert at the Stanford University Frost Amphitheater that will be joined by the Stanford Symphony Orchestra. $60 with another $24 of fees, taxes. Should be lots of Stanford students there too so a great mix with older jam band followers in the dense crowd. Expect to spend most of my time freestyle dancing in open areas.

Enjoy the concert, we are off out tomorrow evening, I have bought a pair of tickets to see the seven piece swing band Boogie Bumpers. The event is at a place called The Milford Jazz Club, We were there a month ago when a big band called Swing Unlimited were playing. What a great evening that was, we have seen Boogie Bumpers previously, they can really get a dance floor to fill up fast. Looking forward to it.

A big spend today. I’ve been searching for a red or blue heavy winter coat for a couple of years. Got one at a charity shop. It’s in great condition and has lots of exterior or interior pockets. $40. I just took it out of the washing machine and it looks like new. I also found a Columbia t-shirt, a pink linen blouse and a scarf. I know I’ll wear the first three things. I don’t have a good track record for wearing scarves; I guess it makes me happy to buy them. Total for all 4 items was $53. I even left a EF blazer in the store; even at a pittance compared to regular prices, I couldn’t justify another jacket.

drove to town today. I've got a "primitive" iPod, the first type Apple made, about 1.25" square. Suited only to hold MP3 files. It has only one socket, and that's designed for ear buds. Today, at the local Dollar Store, I finally found the kind of cord that will jack into the iPod and into a USB port in our car.

Also l bought at the Dollar Store a pocket-size flashlight ("torch" to my British friends), and a 3-pack of sampler-size bottles of different kinds of glue, by a company called Time for Crafts. Then too, I went to the pharmacy and bought a bottle of generic naproxen for my sometimes-aching muscles.

Other than that, my wife and I went to the co-op and bought various bulk foodstuffs on sale.

@JBR
Have you ever used Voltaren on aches? It's great stuff. I use it on my ache-y knees.

BTW, once again I kept my money in my pocket. It's just too much trouble to bother spending it. Tomorrow DD, DGD and I are taking a friend to lunch. She's not exactly having hard times, but money's tight for her right now so we're going to give her a gift card to her favorite supermarket. Happens that it's Kroger:)

If they sold them I'd buy a sack of dust bugs. Critters that come out when you play a certain tune, crawl over every surface and into crannies, consume surface dust and hair, dispose of it into a second container. When the music stops they mosey back into their container.

Haven't tried it yet. I seem to get maybe 6-hours relief with naproxen. Is Voltaren fairly long acting?
My knee aches aren't all that bad .. just worse in cold weather.
It is strong enough for me.

Maybe try what Georgia Granny suggested? Bio-Freeze. Don't know if they sell it here.

BTW did I tell you a couple of weeks ago I bought a slanket ?..also known as an Oodie

Ugly thing .. but it's so warm.... and it has deep pockets.. and unlike the onesie which I hate btw this is easy when you go to the loo...

This is mine..
