What have you bought recently?

Refill brushes for my Sonic toothbrush. The price is outrageous, even at Costco. There it was 6 for $60. Another store had the sensitive and gum care types on sale for 3 for $35. Costs more but they’re hard to find.

I also bought two boxes of chocolates on sale so the toothbrushes were a wise purchase.

Last time I bought those replacement heads at Costco I think I paid $49, but that must have been a sale price.
I'm due for more, so I hope I don't have to pay $60. 😟
 
I bought a pair of oven mitts, a tablecloth, measuring cups and spoons (not yet arrived), and some Black Friday sale items AAA batteries, a litter-genie, and some art markers.

I've put a bunch of other stuff in my Amazon 'save for later' in hopes that deals will show up tomorrow.

@Jules , do Black Friday sales on Amazon show up for Canada or does Amazon have different sales days for different countries? I've got some Oral B toothbrush heads sitting in my Save For Later in hopes they go on sale, but the prices are not bad even without a sale. Maybe Sonic heads would also be cheaper on Amazon?

I can answer for the UK, and that is that their Black Friday sale is on right now.... (y)

We have Black Friday sales galore, many started in the beginning of November. Amazon does have BF sales and they’re different than the US. I just checked and the ones I bought are the same price as locally. I guess I could consider a no name brand. Good idea to put them in Save for Later and watch for a sale.

@hollydolly The charity shops love to see you coming, but you need to put the brakes on donating while you replenish your wardrobe.

I didn't spend any money today, but...I'm probably gonna spend some real soon. When DS/DSIL were here we were musing about the cost of everyday stuff that people used to figure had to be replaced from time to time. I was trying to remember when DS moved back down here and said "OMG! That's when you bought your mattress! It's probably long past time to replace it."

Um. The cost of a mattress. Eek! So I told them I'd spring for a mattress for a Christmas present. "Mmmmm-o-o-o-mmmm. You can't spend that kind of money. You can't afford it." Well, now. I can spend that kind of money, and I can afford it. So there. I set a limit, told them to research mattresses and lemmeno. They want a memory foam one (mine's a Tuft & Needle, still going strong after 8 years). It comes in a box. Might be a problem to wrap?🎁 LOL

why?..:( I have lot of clothes... and poor people need the ones which are too small for me,.. or out of favour... let these folks get some nice things..rather than some of the old Tat that gets donated,,,
 
DS/DSIL must really want a new mattress because they've already researched and sent me a link to their choice. I won't have to wrap it;) because it's being shipped directly to them. They might have a bit of a problem getting it under their tree...

I guess Black Friday goes on forever and ever. There was a big Black Friday discount. Maybe nobody told them that today's Saturday? Whatever. My account didn't take nearly the hit that I thought it would.
 
I must admit I went a little Amazon Black Friday-Cyber Monday crazy, but two supplements I take (Slow magnesium and Vegan Omega 3) were on a great sale so I bought several month's worth of each. Also purchased on-sale bulk candy that's part of a family Christmas tradition I started over 20 years ago. Less than half the price of brick and mortars. Also a game for the older grandchildren for Christmas.

Have a feeling I'm not done yet. Stay tuned. 💸💸💸
 
There are 3 women that I usually buy Christmas gifts for. Nothing elaborate or life changing or expensive. One of them almost always gives me a $10 calendar, but I'm not easy to buy for.

This year I went with some Burt's Bees lip balms in 4-flavor packs and a sort of shawl thingie I guess:

Not wool or anything, just a fluffy synthetic. Something to wear around the house, not keep forever.

Picked up a bottle of Laphroaig yesterday. For medical purposes only you understand. It's starting to get cold at night around here and a nightly dram is a sovereign remedy for chillblains and the like.
