What have you bought recently?

I spent a little $ today for the rest of the scratch-off tickets that I need for stocking stuffers. Now I'm done, done, done, done.

Sort of.

On Wednesday I'll get potato salad and deli meat and cheese for making sliders for lunch when DS and DSIL come for lunch.

@StarSong I want that shirt!

A new toaster. Then I had to clean and completely rearrange my counter and cupboards. I had to make myself stop or I'd be doing the basement by now.

Why don't toasters come with a silicone lid to keep dust out? The idea just grosses me out.

Spent 40 cents at the thrift store. When I dropped off a bag of food, I decided to look for a soap dish. Found a nice glass dish that will serve the purpose.

Splurged with $49 on a new face wash; this will be offset by the soap dish bargain. I’d been given a couple of samples that I usually just donate to a charity. Decided to try it and loved it. Had to order it and will pick it up in the store.

$49 ???:oops::oops:

A box of detergent pods for my new dishwasher. I'm currently using my old powder from before so I thought I'd try old these pods.
I was skeptical about these but bought a package (Kirkland brand) a while ago and can't see myself going back to powders or liquids. I keep the package in the garage and maintain a few in a container under the kitchen sink.

I just spent £660 on car repairs.... ..on the way home, I knew I needed odds and sods from the supermarket, just milk and bread type of stuff.. s O instead of going to Tesco I just pulled in to Aldi, which happens to be right next door to the garage where I collected my car..

Very busy even tho' it was dark.....lots of empty shelves. however to take the sting out of my car bill.. this is what I got for £20...

4 x Litres ( gallon) Skimmed UHT MIlk
1/2 a gallon x Skimmed fresh milk..
2 pints x Fresh skimmed milk

Box of Toffee & Vanilla Ice cream cones
Box of Toffee , Popcorn & Choc Ice lollies..
CBE135

Farmhouse load of bread..
Large Baking potato..
Butter.. pound pack (500 grms)
Dozen free range eggs..
Pot of fresh pouring cream..
Pot of Irish Chocolate & Clementine flavour Heavy cream..
Double pack of fresh cream Chocolate eclairs..

It would have been less than £20 if I hadn't had to pay for a couple of carrier bags because I usually carry bags in my car but that had been emptied for the repairs

EA...I forgot to add the frozen Fish burgers in Buttermilk.. ..I've never had them before , thought I'd give them a try

@hollydolly good, you have everything covered in case your knees are tender after your shots!
exactly the reason I did it , Blessed. I didn't need 'food'' because my freezers are all stocked ..and in fact I was a little concerned I might not even have room for the milk and the ice-creams.. but they got in.. with very little space left...

I mean, I might be fine after the injections.. physiotherapist said some people. are not, but others are fine to drive after, so I'm just presuming I'm going to be fine.. she says it gets a bit sore , but not unbearably so..

Went for groceries. Had to hit two stores because some shelves were cleaned out.

$160, but part of that was for a Christmas get-together and part was supplies "for lubrication" this New Year's Eve. Assuming I don't get stood up I guess.

By "lubrication" I mean booze, you perverts!

I hope you are one of the people who are fine after!

I'm trying something different:

No-sugar-added cranberry juice
Bourbon
Fresh-squeezed lemon
Dash of Bitters or homemade Rosemary simple syrup
Some water

Can be cold over ice or even served as a heated "punch" with a punch.

I don't keep booze around so I had to buy the makings.

I'd drink something like that probably once, but I'd use Vodka. Or twice.

Replaced my very old silver polish with Goddard’s. There was a smaller size but I didn’t want to pay duty on it. This container will last me a lifetime, even if I live until 100. I’d better put it in my will for whomever gets my silverware.

I think I still have a can of Duraglit that I bought over 20 years ago

A dishwasher repair man told me sometimes the plastic in the pods don’t totally melt and cause problems. They are responsible for a fair number of repairs so I keep using the liquid.
