What have you bought recently?

I retired at 58 and within 7 months was teaching one college class. I did that for 7 years plus some consulting. Of my 12 years in retirement I only spent 3 where I didn’t work at all. 18 months ago I went back to v consulting. I usually only see 3 clients a month for 5 hours each and it’s a sedentary job.

I didn't spend any money today. Tightening my belt in anticipation of retirement...my final retirement. I'm never gonna retire again because I'm never gonna work again. (She said...)

It was brutal hard work but well compensated. Never had an unhappy client, or if I did, they sure never said a word, so I figured they were happy. I liked it because they were rarely home so they trusted me to do my job, lock up and leave. Some of them had nice dogs, too. I got to play with the dogs. Sometimes I'd dogsit when clients were out of town.

Geez. I was a CSR at company that replaced auto glass, head housekeeper at a hotel...so many unusual jobs and all after retirement. Remember when I was the Biscuit Bitch at the fast food place that specialized in supplying breakfast? Lordy! I made hundreds of biscuits every day. Hundreds.

That was the place where we weren't allowed to call the police for any reason because it would be "bad optics." Had a guy who came in packing every morning, hang up his backpack, reach in to take a couple of nips from his bottle of vodka before getting started. His GF got mad at him one day after the place closed and was being cleaned. Doors were locked. She stood there slamming her gun against the glass, demanding to be let in. But we weren't allowed to call the police for any reason. How bad would the optics have been if she'd shot up the place? Or if he'd reached into his backpack for his gun instead of his vodka and they'd gotten into a gun fight? Duh.

Anyway, I'm outta there on July 6 and won't be posting about spending or not spending. Y'all can just assume that I won't be spending!

Just got a new dehydrator last week and have run a batch each of both beef and chicken
Time consuming and effort to get even cuts that dehydrate the same throughout the cycle

SOooo, just ordered a jerky slicer. Crank the meat through and ready for the dehydrator
Slicer should be here Tuesday. Just in time to make some more jerky

I bought this stuff to make jerky treats for my dog but will ease into stuff for my consumption as time goes on
Mason's jerky treats have one(1) ingredient ... meat. No seasonings or marinades.

Who is "Riley" and what (s)he has got to do with anything? ;)

Well, in old age we are limited by our health so much. Used to take care of all outside matters. May be one day again. Who knows the future my friend (when we don't know the past or even the present)?

With warmest regards.
