What have you bought recently?

“If everyone was jumping off a bridge, would you too?” Quoting my mother. Seems like I would.

Since I kept reading of the merits of organic, cold-pressed castor oil, I ordered some too. It’ll help my skin, my complexion, my arthritis (I don’t have any), my bowels (seriously?), etc.

Okay, so I went to Walmart this morning as soon as they opened. It was my store, I did not have to dodge anyone fight for a place to stop and browse. Oddly enough or maybe not, I came home with a lot of things, one of them being a butterball turkey breast. No hot dogs or hamburgers for July 4th, it will be turkey, wild rice, green beans and homemade yeast dinner rolls. Also picked up stuff to make a coconut cake!! Come one, come all, or I will send the leftovers home with the son!!

@Jules, if I may... here's an article about castor oil, just fyi. I looked it up because I know the deadly poison ricin is manufactured from the castor bean. However, a nurse friend of mine swears that nothing is better for softening skin than castor oil.

No, Castor Oil Can’t Solve All (or Any) of Your Health Problems

Well I tried the castor oil as well...all it gave me was greasy skin... and that was using it sparingly...

I have naturally dry skin...

🤣 Do you know of any good snake oil to replace it? 😉

The advice from a senior makeup artist made me decide to try it. She found it helpful and blends it with another regular moisturizer. I bought a small bottle. It was late at night and my resistance to nonsense was low.

Ah, it's blended with another moisturizer!
That's a whole new thing..... let us know how you like it. :D

No, I haven't got anything fancier than a cream with retinol, and I see no difference.

I see some of my friends on fakebook use it and like it. I have never tried it. I use an organic product called Tallow All-in-one Skin Balm. It had great reviews on Amazon and I decided to try it. I like it a lot because I am older now and have thin skin under my eyes and this seems to help. It can be used on the rest of the body, not just the face.

I bought 3 jars of Chosen classic mayonnaise (with avocado oil) and sardines from Walmart online.
Then from Amazon I bought 2 easy release ice cube trays, silicone Popsicle molds, jumbo slushie and shake maker and a solar power Dynamo crank lantern, a book and the Bob & Brad eye massager. I am done shopping now!

Went to the garden center to buy Critter Ridder. They didn't have any except the granules, so I got Repels All spray instead. Then DD made me buy an enormous pot of giant zinnias. There are four different colors, and they're gorgeous. I'm gonna leave 'em in the pot they're in. We left with my bank account lighter by $43.41.

Didn't I say just a couple of days ago that I was done buying flowers and plants? It appears that for me at least, there's no such thing as "done."

@Pam Are you going to use the compost on the cross stitch to get more of them?

I use sweet almond oil, but mainly as a carrier oil for mixtures of essential oils chosen for their scent.

A pound of medium roast coffee beans. Purchased from a natural-food retailer a five minute drive from our place, and they get it wholesale from a coffee-roasting company on our region. Also bought 20 pounds of fresh cherries a neighbor brought back for us from the Okanagan Valley (a four-hour drive for him, but he was there on business).
What will you do with 20 lbs of fresh cherries?
