What have you bought recently?

I promised myself that I wouldn't spend more than $50 at the garden center. I spent $48.15. Yay me. Impatiens. They are already planted :) and have their little faces turned up to the sun.

And I bought a birthday card for DD. It has pictures of kitties on the outside and says "Happy Birthday. The more kitties you have..." and inside says "the more likely you house will smell funny." She has a kitty; DGD has two. So far the house doesn't smell funny, but it's a big house so plenty of room for more. I could give her another kitty.

Landscape and nature photography. I began using Photoshop from its earliest CS3 era.

Forgot to add the Amazon link for the keyboard on that post. Review section is a good read on a well rated typing product. I like soft, low actuation force chiclet style keyboards most. Because of some arthritis in some of my fingers, I can no longer type rapidly in a more conventional style like I could up to about age 50.

Amazon.com
I have always been a 6-finger typist. Now, I too am afflicted with arthritis. It is not as bad as others I see at my age (75), and I think i am more limber because of playing finger style guitar. Even now, I can practice for, say, an hour and it will quiet my hands stiffness. I am still a 6-finger typist, and having written four novels within the past 6 years, I surmise all of that typing has helped my arthritis as well. When I wake up and first arise, I am stiff as a board then spend the next hour or so working it all out.

Spent a whole lot. Only a few more days before the Bay closes. Everything is at least 70% off. I bought some flat sheets, a duvet, a shower curtain. In the makeup department it’s 40% off. Bought my DD a makeup scrub brush and for me a EA moisturizer with sunscreen. I haven’t looked at the total yet. Also, 6 face clothes which are the main reason I went there.

Oh dear.... Went to Costco and bought a load of groceries plus a pair of pants for DH. I heard the checker say, $207.50, and thought to myself, well there IS a lot here. Wrong. She said $307.50!

$100 of it was coffee and coffee creamer. (DH's favorite coffee beans are on sale so we stocked up.) Also took advantage of sales on Glide floss and glucosamine & chondroiton. Another $60 there.

Oh well. As Tony Soprano used to say, Whaddyagonnado?

All those things I bought today are non-returnable. I guess in setting things down because they were so heavy, I picked up the wrong thing. One package I thought was a sheet set was a duvet set. Very boring, plain grey. Didn’t realize until I was reviewing what I purchased when at home. Oh well. I might be able to use it on the guest bed.

just be glad you're lucky enough to be able to afford it all... (y)

Silly, but a visor to wear indoors.

I love the natural light from windows, and my office arrangement is perfect except that 70% of the year I have too much glare from behind and above the monitors when I use my PC.
Try Blue negating safety glasses, it makes everything seem golden glo, takes away the glare and Blue the sky is sort of grey.

For years I had an Amazon account. Finally made the decision to rid myself of the marketing giant's hold. Found it was impossible to stem my urges and remove the motivator. In the meantime we had our DD come live with us. She had an Amazon account she refused to give up. So I volunteered to pay her annual fees so we could all use her 'free' shipping perk. 3 years on we are still attached by proxy to the clutches of Jeff. One 'trick' she uses were to list an item on her 'wish' list and watch it for reductions.

Fast forward I followed that advise & have made a few 'wise' or unwise choices. One recently comes to mind, I listed an item at $85.99, 3 days later it dropped to $83.99. Then this morning 1 day later it was listed at $89.99 & holding, WTH? Marketing or what? The price was too high to begin with & reductions were promising, Now they want $4 more than the original asking price. Do I have 'stupid' written on my forehead? Yes/No, Guess I don't need it after all. I removed the offending item for better days, & moved on.

I bought some aluminum cups to save the children from micro plastics and because I don't want another glass cup shattered all over the floor. 😒
Also a flag shirt for my grandson. He was born on flag day. Every year I look but can't find a plain shirt with a plain flag. I think I wait too long and just gaudy ones are left. It's white, (would have preferred a color) with a flag. No embellishment, no other graphics, just a flag.

Back in the 50's they came up with the different colored aluminum cups, us kids found that placing a spoon in the cup filled with Koolaid then freeze the mixture you ended with an awesome popcicle. Only trouble it created was rounding the bottom of the cup so it would never remain standing straight again. Kept tipping, spilling the colored water on everything. A lot of red mashed potatoes,

Haha, that's why you see them in thrift stores with rounded bottoms!

I always put items into my watch list, unless I need them immediately....^^^

Today I bought a new Spatula in grey ..not that I wanted grey, but that was £2.50 and all the other colours were £5.00

... and a new cushion for between my knees in bed. I have used a cushion to protect my right knee for years, and after i washed it for the nth time a couple of days ago..I realised the inside was degrading...clean, but gone home .. so I bought a new one today... the old one has served me well since I bought it 20 years ago in Spain

I found that using a 'too' large/fluffy pillow would give me leg cramps, got to be the right thickness or trouble soon followed. Oh the curse of the impulse buyer, I'm learning & will leave now.

yes I find similar, so the right size and thickness is very important for the pillow...really it has to be more on the flat side than plumped

I'd watched an item March and into April and its price wobbled up and then down. It finally hit $280 with a 50% off coupon, so $140.

This has worked well, and I'd been keeping an eye on the product category. That item rose to $350 then $390 but now it has fallen to $310 with another 50% off coupon, so $155. I jumped and bought a second unit.

The direct competition for this product (same features, similar capacity) sell for $330 to $400 so I feel good about the purchases and I think I'm ahead since I have uses for two of them.

I'm a side sleeper and have to do the same thing to keep the knee joint from the left knee from pressing against the right leg, which hurts so bad I can hardly get up.

Nothing lately. I'm in America and just not comfortable spending in the current environment. I bought birthday gifts and a Mother's day gift for mom, and I always buy food and spend a lot on that, but really nothing else. I do need some new scatter rugs for the living room. I want decent ones that will last and look great like the ones I have which are wearing out.
