What have you bought recently?

Don't be. I don't recommend this method for losing weight. Even though I could afford to lose 10 pounds, and in 4 days after I started meds, I gained 5 pounds back. Haven't looked at the scale since then. I think part of it was dehydration, because I experienced a bit of confusion on the way home from the doctor, which is untypical for me. Lose weight some other way.
Prednisone frequently causes weight gain, and it also causes people to be irritable and mean. When I was working, a bunch of us had asthma and when we would have to be on that medication, we would always warn our coworkers and they would be understanding. Those side effects don’t happen to everybody, of course but are very common.

due to my allergies and asthma I have found that I can only have a few breeds of dogs such as the Maltese or poodles. Althoughthere is no true hypoallergenic dog Some breeds are easier to tolerate than others. It’s really weird, but I have some breeds that I’m highly allergic to such as huskies, Pekingese and Chihuahuas. I always run a very high-quality air cleaner while I sleep and if it dies, I immediately purchase a new one because it does help.

I heard somewhere that prednisone can lower resistance to infection. Probably need to double check that one though. Weight gain, ugh! Don't need that. But it acts so fast on asthma that I can breath normal within one day, and I am always so happy about that, that I don't feel like being mean.

When you need it to take it for your asthma, there’s really no choice. I’ve actually only had to do that twice and it’s been at least 20 years now since I needed it. It doesn’t make everybody mean. I didn’t know about the Lower resistance to infection.

This morning I rescued four Obedient plants from the "Clarence" racks at the garden center. Poor things were so bad off that if I hadn't bought them, they'd have had to have the last rites.
I nominated you for sainthood with my friends at the Vatican. Can you think of a few of your better miracles to add to the application?

Sigh.... a power surge knocked out two of my (five) security cameras. Am very bummed because these have not only given me 9 years of good service, they had free 7 day cloud storage. The other three are still grandfathered on that free service, but new ones will cost a total of $17.99/month, plus the cost of the cameras. I don't think so.

So now I'm researching new security cameras and am learning subscriptions are the current rage. They want to ding your CC or checking account every month for life. Very irritating.

Me too. Bought a keyboard and mouse for our new laptop. They’re rechargeable.
Okay you convinced me, I just ordered a rechargeable setup for both the AAA & AA battery packs with chargers. A triple 'AAA' for the keyboard which I do like & a dbl 'AA' setup for the Logitech M510 mouse that I also like for my All-In-One. Now I no longer have a new/unused Mouse & Keyboard combo. Thanks to 'Mint' & UPS.

Decided to return the wired KB & mouse unopened since my last order hasn't been shipped. Easy, Peasy!

I bought an antique spinning wheel made in the late 1700's. It is a Saxony wheel and very pretty although dirty and dusty. I am going to have it professionally cleaned and one leg attached a little tighter. It spins! I don't plan to spin with it, I bought it to save it. A Saxony was made to spin very thin yarn or thread when people were still making their own fabric for clothes.

There are some this old here and there, but they mostly don't have all the parts and they don't make them anymore. This one has it all. I am very pleased with this little girl.

@StarSong Have you checked out Simplii Safe. I hear ads for it all the time. We don’t have it in Canada, so I don’t know anything about it. You would choke at what we pay for a security system.
During a big remodel in 1989, we had our house fully hard wired for an alarm system - all doors and windows, plus some security screens. It still works like a charm. We have a great monitoring service that costs us $10 a month, and they call immediately if there's a wifi or power interruption, or if the alarm goes off. Couldn't be happier with that aspect of our home security. (That's what Simpli Safe offers - at a very high cost.)

What I'm looking to replace are security cameras that send me cell phone notifications for audio/motion detection. This isn't connected to my alarm system security.

p.s. My alarm monitoring system is a Canadian company. 🇨🇦 ❤️❤️❤️

I bought a pair of Skechers that looked to be the same ones that @StarSong bought. My other pair in a similar style is the same size. These were a bit too big so sending them back. There’s a pair that are a half size smaller and look almost the same. They’re $40 more. $105 rather than $66. It would kill me to pay that.

Like yours, mine are a skoch too big. I'm managing with socks.

I ordered a different pair ("Bob's Skechers"). Tried 7.5 wide. Terrible quality and way too big. Going back.
However, I'm now on a mission to find good fitting sneakers - just ordered two more pairs this morning. Fingers crossed that one or both will work.

They're sort-of on sale. Not a Prime Days level sale, but when considering that we spent $1200 on truck repairs (gah!) yesterday, I'm not sweating sneakers costing $20 more this week than last...

It was a long time ago but it was my experience that Prednisone did not cause weight gain; Prednisone causes massive hunger and you cannot stop eating.
