What have you bought recently?

A cordless dustbuster. Amazon said I'd have it between 4 and 8 today, and sure 'nuf, it's here and charging as we speak. Yippee. I had one that died years ago and have been promising myself I'd get another one. It's a Christmas present to myself.

Also got a gold necklace with DGD's initial. I've got a small loose diamond...1/3 carat...and am going to take the necklace and the diamond to a local jeweler that we like and ask him to attach the diamond to the initial. It's going to be her Christmas gift.

And a NewYorker wall calendar for DS. Because I give him one every year and it has a funny cartoon for each month.

Two weeks until "payday" and I still have $$ left!

The ($770) Google Pixel 10 PRO that I Amazon ordered on Cyber Monday was scheduled to arrive tomorrow, Sunday 12/7/202. But yesterday Friday received an email stating it would be delivered today Saturday when I was planning to not be at my residence, so did not want a package with an expensive item laying against my front door. Of course, a fair amount of the time, deliveries don't occur to following days and would in any case, not spend all day at home.

So tried to abort that, including an actual phone contact with their Customer Service. Instead, they were unable due to policy of changing that at short notice to delivery. A situation they caused, not me. I've had delivery date changes in the past for which I changed delivery to their Hub Lockers, but never a change so close to delivery that they won't change. The CS person related if the unsecured smartphone is stolen, that I ought to be able to receive a replacement or refund. That is hardly ok with me, even if they are ok eating the cost. So have a letter to their CS department ready to send if that in fact occurs.

In the future, will never purchase anything expensive from Amazon with a home address delivery unless it is large, bulky without other choices.

Went to the local pig farm and bought skewers of city chicken, thick slice bacon, and chops.
Also got some beef sticks and potato salad from them.
that reminds me..I need to go to the farm shop....on the nearby farm, I should have gone last week and I totally forgot...

Today I a Maybeline colour corrector... concealer .. and a pole for opening and closing high windows..

for years I've been using a cane to hook and unhook the higher windows.. and I got this window opener... it's simple, lightweeight and works brilliantly and it was no money to speak of.. so the cane can go to the charity shop now having served it's usefulness in this house for baout 8 years

I am thinking of knitting socks - do you use the round needles? I have them but haven't tried them yet but, I like that they would have no seams. :)
I use 4 double pointed needles. The old way, but there are new ways to knit socks from the toe up, or with circular needles which I find very confusing. Four needles gives a round seamless sock. Don't get impatient wit the 4 needles. Easy peasy.

remember the breadmaker I bought earlier in this thread? Haven't gotten it yet but i happened to check the order and noticed the price was $10.00 more than what it showed on the listing page?!
Amazon customer service gave me a credit by saying a bottle of Tylenol I'd ordered last time had defective packaging. Okay. Whatever works.
Hope that's the last hassle with the breadmaker. Delivery delayed till Monday.

Nearly 6pm now. Worrying about the Amazon delivery per above, I returned home early this afternoon at 3pm and indeed found 3 packages out in the open in front of my door, including the Pixel 10 PRO. Just before I left around 11am, a homeless person was digging into my neighbors trash bins for plastic bottles that reflects the kind of unknown, untrustable persons often walking or riding bicycles about in our complex. At least the auto break in burglaries we used to have regularly, ended after our police began ALPR use.

Over the last hour opened the Google box and though I was not ready to set it up, unwisely plugged the USB-c cord in because I suspected it might need some charging before setting up. That resulted in the device immediately beginning the setup process that I knew almost nothing about. I knew to switch my Consumer Cellular phone account to the new device that I would need to move the SIM from my moto g to the Pixel and once I did that, my moto g would not be able to take phone calls.

Thus planned to phone up CS and ask them how they wished me to proceed so I would not get stuck. Well, I skipped some steps and that included the CS cell phone setup. Setup required putting the moto g next to the Pixel that then communicated and automated a bunch of copying data and apps.

And that completed smoothly after about 15 minutes. Was surprised it was able to automate so much, though guess such is expected progress. Particularly, did not have to do a single thing to set up the network or my local wifi network off the AT&T router, as all that occurred automatically between devices. Also enabled a bunch of default Google Android functions, I know little about that I now need to go back and review to possibly disable.

Once completed, I have ended doing anything more with it till Monday when I'll have time to look at a bunch of features. As someone with mediocre smartphone skills, I have a great deal to read, learn, and be taught. At this point, don't even know the gestures to move around the screen and deal with open windows.
