What have you bought recently?

I bought a hair cut and blow dry... I had 6 inches cut off my hair at 3pm this afternoon... it cost me £57.00 and that is with 25 % senior discount

Before that, I got a brow wax at the Mall ..... and then to the supermarket I bought a few groceries, mainly fruit and milk.... but a big Tea mug as well..in Pink.... I don;t have pink in any way shape or form in any rooms, least of all my office room where I drink most tea...... but I liked the mug anyway ... :D

We bought a new garbage disposal yesterday, $148. Today the Roto Rooter man is installing it for $375. The worst part was that he was supposed to be here between 8 and noon. I got up at five and had everything out from under the sink and the whole house cleaned by 7:50 and he didn't come until 1 o'clock, so that's a lot of sitting by the window waiting. Right now he's at the store because, you know, those vans never have anything actually in them.

Before he came I had five phone calls making sure I was here. Heaven forbid they come out and no one is home. How inconvenient that would be for them.

I hate that when that happens... I'm a pedant for time keeping as it is.. without people deliberately not turning up until they feel like it

Yesterday I bought this oversized wool jumper for me to wear around the house so as to keep the heating off... it was originally £49.99..I got it for £14.00. I'm not a grey fan but that was the only colour they had

Beautiful sweater, amazing price! It will look great with your red turtleneck underneath it.

{ I wish they still made "dickies." Everything is always too big in the neck for me so I'd like to have a turtleneck to wear under everything.]

You have all my sympathy in the “hurry up and wait” game, which always seems to be one-sided. I also get those phone calls.

I like it when they call me and say the driver can’t get in because your gate is locked. I say of course it is. I left you instructions to have him text me coming up the hill so I could go down and unlock the gate. Don’t you have them? That’s usually followed by long silence which tells me yes they have them, but they didn’t do their job the way they were supposed to and now the driver is waiting at the gate for me to drive 500 feet down there and let him in —- after I get my winter coat and shoes on.

My dilemma today is in the products department —- horse feed and digestive supplements to be precise.

I bought 150 pounds of senior feed for my 30 year-old a week ago and it had an overfill of peanut oil in it. I would post a picture if it would upload, but I don’t think it will. The overfill was so bad that I had to put sand on the floor of my garage. Triple Crown is trying to make it better by sending me enough coupons to essentially reimburse me the hundred dollars for the 150 pounds of feed.

Moving right along I have bought Uckele GUT for hind gut pH balance for my horses for quite a few years.

Suddenly, I can’t find it. Being the person that I am, I also called Uckele’s 800 number after I talk to the horse feed people. I find out the manufacturer of this gut product sold it to SmartPak, an Equine product provider that I don’t like. Worse than that, SmartPak got bought out by Chewy. There are a lot of people who have dogs and cats who know what Chewy is. So now Chewy is in the business of selling horse products because there’s a lot of money in it.

Chewy rebranded this GUT product and put their name on it. I’m not sure if I’m going to buy it because I don’t like Chewy, but I may be forced to buy it if I can’t find anything similar to it. It works very well on my horses. It’s not cheap either, it’s about $53 for 2 pounds. Yes I will spend the money on them. My senior horse is 30 years old, I won’t have him much longer. Until his time comes, I fully intend to make his life on this earth as comfortable as I possibly can. I give thanks every day that I am able to provide for him.

I had a little loose diamond and a pretty 14k gold chain. The jeweler mounted the stone, and I picked it up yesterday. It turned out so much prettier than I expected. It's DGD's Christmas gift...because it's something that will last forever. Someday she'll say "My gramma gave me this."

Over the years, I've given her a diamond tennis bracelet, a 7-stone diamond ring that DH gave me, diamond stud earrings, now this necklace. Diamonds are forever; grammas aren't! Think she'll remember where they came from?

Last week I bought a bunch of stuff online..it arrived today....

One of them is this heavy duty retractable Measuring tape.. with luminous numbers.. to replace mine which is broken..

I'm more excited about this than anything else I bought because I paid less than £4 for it.. and its a stunning piece of workmanship..seriously.. it's bigger than my palm and really heavy.... I would have paid more than double this if I'd bought it in the big box DIY store..

Further to my post number 13,331 above, triple crown horsefeed company sent me five coupons in the mail for (5) 50 pound bags of their senior horse feed. Two of those five bags were for my pain and suffering, no kidding lol. She evidently sensed how distraught I was on the phone, even though I tried very hard to be polite.

At $35 a bag plus tax for this particular horse Feed I am grateful that what got ruined isn’t going to come out of my pocket. They acknowledge that there is an investigation into what happened with the section of assembly that dumps the peanut oil into the feed.

I had worried about possibly a ruptured hydraulic line and maybe hydraulic oil got mixed in there but the gal at triple crown assured me that is not possible. Still in All I will be feeding those bad bags of feed to the squirrels in the deer down in the woods where the horses can’t get to it.

my next-door neighbor with the goats and his wife brought me a very nice church basket of food, and I reminded him that there were a few few bales of hay in my barn that my horses wouldn’t eat for him to come and get them for the goats. So he did that while I took my trash over to the dump. Everybody else must’ve had the same idea because it was like going to Walgreens fighting the traffic at the trash place lol lol.

We are all making ready for the horrible temperatures tonight. We are supposed to go down into the teens, only see a high of 25° tomorrow then down in the teens with possibly below freezing tomorrow night as well. We can deal with it, but we don’t like it. I’ll say one thing for farmers, we have all been there done that and pretty much know what to do to make ready for the bad weather, then hope for the best and and pray that we have done everything to avoid any sort of disaster.

The good news is we have full sunshine today, and should have full sunshine tomorrow. That will at least make a high of 25 degrees a little less miserable.

@StarSong Heads up! The 🦅 :poop: today!

What did I buy? Went to the credit union and did my "Christmas shopping" for DD/DSIL/DGD. Bought extra cash to have on hand.

Went to Aldi and bought a 64qt Sterlite storage container for the grand sum of $8.99. It's to put all the Christmas things in that DGD wants to keep for her someday-Christmas decorations. I included a list of what came from where or whom. She's the sentimental sort so someday those things will mean something to her.

Went to Walmart for kitty food and treats. Also got Christmas cards for the "gifts" I got from the credit union.

There's still a balance (a small one!) left in my checking account, but for the first time in a long time, no deposit was made to savings:eek:, and it's five weeks before the 🦅:poop: again. There'll still be the pension check on the 1st of January so it's not like I'm destitute.

Those are the best crochet hooks! I have a set too, and are so easy to use.

Just arrived...is a big white enamel biscuit barrel..

...I didn't buy it to hold biscuits ( cookies)..I bought it to hold T-Bags. Tea-bag tins are always wayyyy too small.. so i got the biscuit tin instead..which is much bigger and also it has a rubber suction seal which will keep the t-bags fresh

New prescription eyeglasses … $825.00.

Merry Christmas to me, lol!

After I finish huffing and puffing over the expense, I’m thankful and blessed that the cost of such basic needs are within reach.
it's really shocking the price of Specs... Mine cost a lot because I have a high prescription and I get them thinned down a lot... so I found that I can buy them for abut a third of the price from online Optiicans.. compared to the high street .....and that's what I do now...
I've used them several times now, and they're very good, certainly a match for the high street opticians ..but at a much more reasonable cost

In fact i'm just waiting now for a new pair of specs to arrive... these are distance night driving glasses with the slighly yellow lenses... and having had them thinned down , and nice frames the total from memory was £108...

I bought a beautiful white poinsettia at Aldi for $3.99. Because my tree is fake I like having something live and Christmas-y in the room. the woman ahead of me had a dozen of them in her cart. Also want to give the guys some small token for a gift. I bought three triple chocolate mini bundt cakes for under 5.00 each. They are good. I'm not cheap, just lacking in funds. Some people get a piece of art.

Where but Aldi can you find such lovely bargains?

A little loose diamond? Beautiful! Maybe I should check my jewelry box.

I bought a fitbit in hopes that keeping track of whatever it does (besides steps) will be worthwhile to tempt me into taking walks and exercising.

I bought a blood pressure thing to keep track of my numbers and keep my cardiologist informed. He doubled my meds, but my pressure is still way too high. I stopped eating salt; what more does my blood require of me?

I also bought wireless earbuds. I decided to join Spotify again, so I will need them. This ought to be interesting since I've haven't used them before.
