A piece of my collective jigsaw that's been missing for many years. When Elvis left Sun Records, Sam Phillips replaced him with Roy Orbison. The first record of Roy and the Teen Kings that Sun released was, "Ooby Dooby," a minor success and a forgettable song, but now it's filled the gap in my collection.

we call those Chocolate Buttons, we can buy them as confectionary or as cooking chocolate as you say...

On the approach to Valentines day Chocolate and flowers prices go sky high... I used to always tell my husband not to buy me a card because those are ridiculous prices.. ... and to wait until the week after Valentines day if he wanted to buy me chocs or flowers... far more sensible
Melting chocolate wafers are made to melt down (no tempering needed) for easy drizzling or dipping things like pretzels or confections. They don't have any cocoa butter in them and have a waxier texture than regular chocolate.

The buttons you buy, Holly, look like high quality chocolate meant for eating that happen to be the same shape as the melting wafers.

I'm never out of chocolate - if all else fails, there's always a giant bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips in my baking cupboard.

yes I didn't mean that our eating chocolate was the same as the cooking chocolate, I was just saying we have both.. and the picture showed was for eating chocolate.... and not cooking...

With regard to always having chocolate in the house, I do the same.. if there's none in the fridge .. then there's always this jar of chocolate... which so far has remained untouched...been there about 2 years

shopping

I bought a book from Amazon yesterday it arrived this morning. This evening after taking it out of it's box I contacted Amazon and said the book is clearly used, ..... so at first they said I'd have to return it before they gave me a refund. I told them I just want a replacement a new book rather than this used one which iswhat I paid for... , so they have agreed to send out a new one to arrive tomorrow, and I don't have to return the first one...

this is the book, clearly used...

I bought these slippers in late November and love them so well that when they went on sale a I ordered a pair in burgundy. I need slippers with full backs rather than slides because of my plantar fasciitis. I add slip-in cushioning inserts for additional comfort and PF support.

Didn't realize until today that they'll arrive the end of February instead of a day or two from now, but that isn't a deal breaker. I hear patience is a virtue...

Other than groceries, I've bought very little since the first of the year. Haven't needed much.

That's really beautiful! I am going to replace my chair with one that does not have arm rests.
Thank you Kat... I have to admit I love to have the arm rests... In Spain about 20 years ago ... because I had the computer desk in the livingroom and wanted to use as little space as possible I had an armless office style chair... like this..

...I really disliked it because I couldn't rest on the arms... .. I'm sure you'll find a much better one nowadays which are more comfortable. My daughter, doesn't like arms on hers, ... this is the style she prefers...

Very cute! Amazon?

Major online purchase this morning. Tax was another $90. Will arrive Thursday. Wildflowers are already rising at two familiar desert areas while after a long month of dry weather, my Tahoe ski resorts are forecast to receive multiple feet of low elevations, snows within a week plus. Thus, will soon be increasingly busy for weeks.

Note after the purchase via an online credit card, Bank of America, nicely immediately sent a text message asking if it was really this person making the purchase. Thank you BofA for going the extra distance making sure larger transactions are really from mr dave!
