Note after the purchase via an online credit card, Bank of America, nicely immediately sent a text message asking if it was really this person making the purchase. Thank you BofA for going the extra distance making sure larger transactions are really from mr dave!

that's one of the beauties of the UK....when you see a price for something, that's what you pay, no tax is added onto it at the sales desk

no tax is included, we don't pay extra at the checkout or if we buy online.... the price you see if the price you pay!.... also in the Uk if you win a prize... then you get to keep it all... so if win a car for example you don't have to sell it to pay the tax..or if you win the lottery you keep it all...

I've had mine for about 15 years now...I've only used them once in the snow, but since my back went out, I now use one of them to help me when I'm hill walking... takes a lot of pressure off my knees as well

Well that's a good thing for your knees! I bought the poles to make absolutely sure I wouldn't fall while briskly walking on uneven ground.
 
Well this is stupid - well, actually it’s me that’s stupid. At a thrift store this morning I spotted a nice heavy lamp base and a matching shade. I finally found a lightbulb to test it. Got it home and the first thing my husband asked was where’s the switch. Duh. Really the first thing he said was ”another lamp?.

I went wild and crazy at the garden center this afternoon and bought the weed killer refill that kills weeds but not the lawn, Preen to put down after I clean up a space that's really a walkway between the monkey grass and the flowers, and garden soil to level up some spots where I dug up plants last fall.

It doesn't count as spending money, though, because I used gift cards that I got for Christmas. Still have about $100 of gift cards left.

I'll be Preening and killing weeds and filling up holes tomorrow if it's sunny and not to cold.

Don't tell me I don't know how to have fun ;)

Yeah, I've done lots of searching. I even added vanilla vodka - supposed to keep it from getting icy :ROFLMAO:

One thing I haven't tried yet is adding instant pudding to the mix ... I've never been a fan of instant pudding (comes out grainy), but I think I'll try it for the ice cream and see.
