What I couldn't get this week shopping

"Moon drops" are a new (2004) "designer" grape(as mentioned above) that sounds like it has wonderful attributes, but it's patent protected until 2031. In addition the regular grape market in the US is very strong right now.

I had no idea these varieties existed despite walking the largest produce mkt in the world daily for more than 30 years, but I specialized in "hardware" (potatoes, onions, carrots, and cabbage.)

oh yes Rose, I've frozen them... they are great when you're on a diet, because they taste like boiled sweets when you take them out of the freezer one at a time, when you get a sweet craving...

No diet raspberry or cream soda, "lightly salted" peanuts, or store brand nacho chips. I'm starting to see empty spaces on the shelves again.

Egg prices are creeping up again. Another round of avian flu is hitting egg farms, requiring the killing of million of birds to try to slow/stop the spread.

Thinking about this shortage and no reason can be found when I google it, I bet they’re decreasing the size of the bottles. This is usually what happens when something isn’t available.

I like the V8 with fiber.

An uncle liked V8. When he passed, his widow offered what he left to me. I am not one to turn down free food or drink (seafood and alcohol are exceptions). It was low the low sodium variety and I found it rather bland.

Yes, I tried the low sodium but it was very bland. The regular is too salty..

If we were in the US, his choice would be the spicy version. That’s not available in Canada.

I sent an email to the store asking what happened to the Polar diet black cherry soda. The answer was that they are not carrying that anymore in the store I usually patronize.

I checked today and there was diet black cherry soda. Maybe my whining made a difference. However, no calcium tablets anywhere locally that isn't under $11 a bottle. Dollar General used to have Rexall gel caps, but they haven't had them in a long time.

You know, the V-8 fruit juice says it's GMO on the label. I thought it might be a good alternative for grandkids but no.

When my and DH's vitamins/supplements are on sale, I buy a full year's worth and put a list on my phone of when I expect to run out. When the supply gets down to 6 month's worth, I keep my eyes open for another sale.
