What I didn't know about old age!

I'm 77. I don't believe I'm stupider, more incompetent, or more mentally disabled than I was at age 18. So, I forget where I put my glasses-of course, that never happened when I was 18. Yeah, we are a little slower and a little more forgetful. Come on, we aren't 18 anymore, but if you have significant impairments, I doubt it's normal aging.

... forgetting every day things.. like putting something away and forgetting where..or putting the dinner on and forgetting it...till you can smell burning...

I just did something I promised my daughter I would never do. I started to heat a pan with some butter in it, went to my bedroom (study LOL) to check SeniorForums for a minute and remembered five minutes later that I was pre-heating a pan. It smoked like crazy but never caught fire. Thank God! I will never do this again!

Lucky you, my other half left the bath tub taps running..........................for two hours. Thankfully the ceiling didn't collapse, but the water damage is intense. Learn from us, don't rely on former memory.
