What if it was your neighbor's drone watching you?

The store camera thread got me thinking about drones. With more and more personal use drones out there, we have a whole new concept of invasion of privacy. The local news has been doing segments about our being protected from drones invading out personal space.
As of now, there are no laws on the books to prevent people from peeping at us. I am sure they will be coming in the future. The person being interviewed said you could call 911 of you saw one flying over your house, or peeping. I think there may be ordinances about how low owners can fly them over someone else's personal property.
What do you think about them? Part of me thinks it would be kind of cool to have one. Would be neat to have some airborne video footage of an outdoor party or something. I am not going to run out and buy a drone, but would like to try one out some time. Here is an interesting article, one of many.

I see people flying their little drones at the park sometimes, and some seem to have cameras on them. I'm with Falcon, if it was a neighbor hovering a drone over my house to spy on me, I'd have a serious talk with him/her and stop the spying right away.

I wouldn't like someone being able to see my property. I would consider it a great invasion of my life. In a store being watched is alright with me because the video would show only what the store needs and wouldn't invade my privacy. I also don't like that you can google someone's house on google with just their address. That makes me feel like Big Brother is Watching.

I would not be happy at all if a neighbour was watching me, I’d wonder what kind of saddo they were if they’ve got nothing better to do

I’d definately have it out with them, let all the other neighbours and the whole town know about it too !

What if your neighbor is doing something like using residential zoned property as if it was zoned industrial, where they are making loud noises all day long day after day and denying they are doing what they are doing and using high fences and lots of bush trees to hide it from sight?

What if they were keeping a kidnapped person in their garage, or in a shed or a tent in their yard? I imagine drones will someday be used in police work, but I suppose they'd have to alter their search (and seizure) policies.

My grandson has a little drone. His dad paid something like $300 for it, and I always worry he'll lose it because he's not real good at flying it yet. He and his dad take it out to the park on weekends. He loves it.

How would you know which neighbor was droning your place? If a neighbor droned my place, I'd make a sign to hold up the next time.

I was reading fairly late one night and kept hearing a strange sound. It took a while to realize it was a drone, probably someone looking in people's windows. My curtains were closed so they didn't see anything, but it made me uncomfortable because I've had some scary experiences with voyeurs. A cop told me years ago that rapists often start out as voyeurs, which makes sense if you think about it. It's the mentality that says I can do what I want to you and you can't stop me.

So now all voyeurs have to do is go out and buy a cheap drone to do their spying for them. Scary.

I would have to have it out with him/her about
why it was being done.

Our Drone worries over here are how close they
are getting to the aircraft taking off and landing
at our airports.

Mike.
