What is a modern day equivalent of the expression “burn in hell”?

I noticed that this expression is used often by some people on the forum. It is so outdated. Few people believe hell exist and even if it did, since you are already dead, you would not burn. The only thing I can think of, so early on the morning is : I hope you live long and do not prosper.

I would leave who goes to heaven or hell, if there is a hell, to GOD. 😉

You might articulate burn in hell as: "Combust in Hades," mind you, if the recipient of your ire is one who can just about read the cartoons in the lowest common denominator press, an answer might come back as: "You what?"

I like that: I hope you live long and do not prosper!

I've always liked "Drop dead in a shed, Fred."

It was from the movie Stand By Me which was based on the Stephen King book The Body, which was part of a four part book of novellas called Different Seasons.

I believe the remark appeared in both the book and the movie.

The Great British Baking Show is a favorite of ours to watch. The slang used by frustrated or happy bakers made me curious enough to look up British slang.

As a replacement for Go To Hell "Piss Off" combined with "Bell End" works for me.

Why would you want to say bad things at all?
Why cause more disharmony on this already saturated planet?
I am on the wrong world.
Unfortunately, there are people whose felt inadequacies, insecurity and/or anger give them a felt need to try to denigrate or put down others in a way that tries to bring attention to themselves. In my experience, such people are not disposed to quietly respond with any great dignity. In the motorcycle community, these people often have very loud mufflers and a projected "FU" attitude meant to prop up their "bad boy" image.
