WHAT IS IT?

A whisk, like for beating egg whites?

Nope, not a beating tool.

Circumciser!

Hey, that's That Guy's line!

But no, not a ... what you said. Not a bris-kit. :D

Something to do with making or eating melon balls???

Nope, not a melon-baller.

I guess a Nut Crusher would be too simple?

Not too simple - but wrong nonetheless, I'm afraid.

Candle holder?

Not a candle holder.

From what I can see, the ring slides back and something is inserted into the prongs and then the ring then is placed back to hold it in place..
That can be used for a number of things but it sure looks like it is used for food of some sort.. The handle looks like it belongs to a dinner set of cutlery, silver plated......

Like Steve said, it looks like the ring can be loosened; then tightened onto something, like tongs. Holding hot food so you can slice it...or something. :D

A silver squid ?

Lemon slice squeezer?

A grapefruit corer?

Abortion Tool ?????/

A napkin ring with a fork stuck in it.

Napkin holder ?

No, no, no, no, no and no. Sorry.

Abortion tool?

Looks like a meat carving fork.. or serving fork.. I have a knife with the similar pattern on the end.
but its a knife for carving meat..

Is it to hold something awkward to eat one handed steady? Like a corn cob?

DING! DING! DING!

Once again we have multiple winnas!!!

This is an ingenious tool known as a "manche-a-gigot", literally translated as "handle for lamb" but which I like to refer to as a "bone holder". It is fitted with a collar and trefoil-handled screw to secure it over the shank or bone. This allows the server to grip the bone for carving while still keeping his or her hands clean.

Excellent replies, everyone, and join me in congratulating Steve, Rainee, Anne and Diwundrin on their big win!

Congrats everyone, I never would have guessed that. I did think of corn on the cob, but it didn't look like it would open wide enough...maybe for baby corn. :playful:

I usually just use my teeth - I put the whole leg in my mouth and pull it out slowly.

... the I suck out the marrow, toss the empty shell on the pile and have dessert. :playful:

..........But that's only at black tie functions, right??? ;)
