What Is It? - #63

R.I.P. With Us In Spirit Only
Even though the snow is several feet deep and I've already lost a few reindeer getting into the office, I'm proud to present today's WII.

This item is from 1840, is made of pewter, brass and wood, and was designed specifically to be used in the tropics.

WHAT IS IT?

Rather strange looking doohickey that comes with it's own fancy carrying case???

:dunno:

Is it something used to measure the weather ??
How about the rainfall ???

The bottom seems to be like a pump (draw back and push up) and the top looks like some sort of nozzle..

Is it a rectum cleaner out ???

It kinda looks like one of them machines that blow smoke up your arse, but I think Steve might be close. A fancy enima machine?

It does look like it could be used for giving an enema?
.

DING! DING! DING!

We have winna's!!!

Steve gets 1st Place on this one, and Pappy and Michael get Honorable Mention, for identifying this item as an Enema Kit.

Since the weather in tropical locations will rot the rubber tubing normally used with these kits, this one was specially constructed of metal so as to resist rot. The telescoping tubes have water-tight seals, and the body is inscribed with “Invented by W&H Hutchinson Sheffield. Registered on 30 Octobr 1840 No 445.”.

Congrats Steve, Pappy and Michael, and thanks everyone for playing!

Rats!! Just came up with the perfect answer that was miles wide of the mark only to find it's already solved.

Well done winners, I just couldn't believe it was yet another 'insertion' gadget.

Whoa!!!
A little late, but honest ,:sentimental: that was my first guess!... It was the "tropics" that fooled me.

The "adjustable" arm is funny.. One size fits all... Lends new meaning to "putting it behind you".

I can't even remotely imagine how that thing would work - or how you guys came to that conclusion.

I don't need to know that, however. :disturbed: :goodjob:

I seem to have a thing for those, don't I?

Yea...keep 'em coming Phil.

I'll try my best, sir!

I was hoping that the "tropics" would throw people off - evidently I was wrong.

And that adjustable arm - like Anne, I can't quite figure out how it works, but don't really want to know.

I can't even remotely imagine how that thing would work - or how you guys came to that conclusion.

Yeah, I think for once that would be too much info even for me ...

Congrats Steve (Pappy and Michael)...would have never guessed it!
