Not an antique, at least this specific one isn't, and you can still purchase it today. This one is made of metal with a plastic handle, measures approx. 6" long and is often used in pairs.

WHAT IS IT?

Used for moving hot racks in ovens? I have one suspiciously similar in my kitchen drawer.

Or maybe it's a specialised one for a particular brand of handleless ovenware, like a Corningware dish that comes with a separate 'lifting stick' like that.

Dang - you didn't give me time to swallow my spit!

DING! DING! DING!

We have a winna'!!!

Diwundrin has correctly identified this item as a "Hot Plate / Oven Pan / BBQ Grill Lifter" tool.

And that's all I got. :(

Congrats to Diwundrin on her historic win, and ... and ... I can't even thank anyone else. :cower:

Don't mess with old gals who have drawers full of kitchen gadgets.

Ahem, ..... just let me rephrase that. :lofl:
Yes Di I can well believe that you are full of it, I mean your drawers, which probably are full with lots of old things, things that probably haven't been used in years. :sentimental:

I have things in my drawers too that haven't been seen or used in years.

Not goin' there, not touchin' that, just whistlin' and goin' on my merry way ...

And good point about never again putting up cooking articles - I'll keep that in mind!
