Today's WII was born in the early 1950's and is customized to suit its purpose. It is actually associated with a fairly famous event. Made mainly of metal, with a few pieces of Bakelite and rubber thrown in for good measure.

Some type of two way communication device.
My son says to quess this was used to take orders at drive up places like the old A&W drive in.
I do seem to remmber it sounded like Daffy Duck was talking.

The first mobile phone with a hand winder to generate power.

Army field phone?

Is it a short wave radio device or a "wireless telegraph" that could not only transmit Morse Code, but the human voice as well ?
