What is "Middle Class"

We hear much about the decline of the Middle Class....but just how much income must a person have to be considered in this demographic? Here is a breakdown, by State, on how much it takes.

I’ve always felt that “middle class” is defined more by mindset and daily lifestyle than salary figures. I’ve known of people who earn very good salaries but I would not say they are middle class because of their lifestyle and people they associate with.

Class can mean income level.... OR it can mean social standing.. People can we wealthy and still present themselves as "low class" and vulgar.
