Barn Swallows! I haven't seen them in years but they always made a mud nest on my deck. I used a footstool and a mirrorbarn swallow babies.jpg to check their eggs, and then their babies, So Cute and I probably have some photos of them.

Every time I would go out on the back porch , the mother would dive bomber me- getting as close to me as they could- screeching loudly- but we were all used to that. They sure are protective of their young.

Doctors used to be independent business owners in America. When I was growing up we had doctors offices on every street corner it seems. I never see any of those any more. Doctors must all have migrated to hospitals or combined practices. People used to have better health when there was an indy doc in every neighborhood.

Topless attire? Must be looking in the wrong place?

Watching old black and white movies or 1950s tv dramas (ie Superman), it is rather hilarious given current acceptable PC behaviors of law enforcement, especially in Westerns, how anyone running away from potential crime scenes were immediately shot at with hails of bullets. In other words "Automatically guilty of a capitol offense if fleeing." Those in younger generations that whine about so much in society, often have little perspective of how much has changed without any credit.

Control of the U S southern border.
You are so right. I live in Houston, Texas and we see the influx of the Southern Border. Most people around the country are not interested, that is until a bus or plane lands in their city. I'm ready for the Government to go back to it's old ways of protecting our borders... I'll leave it at that...

Christmas cards being replied to...

2021, sent 7 eCards, got 3 replies
2022, first Christmas without husband gave actual cards to neighbours so did daughter to her Avon customers
2023, sent 4 eCards, got 3 replies and three thank yous. Received one actual card.

I remember the last two years before College, in the etiquette class. We relearned the card-giving for "Thank you", Christmas, Funerals, Weddings and more.

Whereas my parents received 100s of cards with every important events, after Papa died that's when the lows occurred. It's a tradition that has been going downhill in my circles... Very sad!
