What is something you really resent paying for?

I strongly resent paying extreme costs of cigarettes. Locally, cigarettes are $8 + USD/pack. That is absurd. The true cost of producing a pack of cigarettes is about ... 30 cents. The rest goes to taxes.
Whether i smoke cigarettes or not is no one's business but my own. My smoking does not cost anyone else their lives, like drunk driving does. Yet the cost of alcohol is quite low.
Every year in the U.S. aprox 12,000 people are killed by drunk drivers. It would seem to be reasonable to tax the heck out of alcohol instead of tobacco.

I hate paying tolls on roads and highways. It's frickin' ridiculous to have to keep change in your car, or I guess in some cases, you just get billed, but there's a huge cost for administering a toll system. That money could be put to much better use if we'd just pay for the roads out of our taxes where everyone pays their share and contributes to the common good, which seems to be a fading concept as the U.S. greatness degrades into oblivion.
Toll roads! Ugh! Some roads that were built with taxpayer money have been turned over to private concerns...makes me livid!

I resent paying for any Microsoft product. Actually, I resent paying for any software. Software is intangible, which makes me feel like I'm paying for nothing, kind of like having to pay for air. And I'm a software engineer! (Ex-software engineer, that is.) I'll spend half a day trying to find a free software product rather than pay $20 or whatever the cost, so it's kind of irrational on my part.
Me too, been a long time Linux & Open Source fan. I did pay for some piece of software years ago, VMware Fusion I believe, so I could run Linux or Windows without dual booting.

I would resent it if I paid it.
Instead of $800-1800.00 per month for drugs/medicine/rx,
I spend about $80.00 every month or two for supplements that work better. I don't even take a nsaid/motrin nor tylenol ever. Some people find out on their own. Others see a natural health provider for information, or do both - read up and see experienced providers , it is very very well worth it.

Actually, I am upset, not resentful, but upset and angry daily at the unjust, immoral cost everyone paying taxes has to pay for or towards the druglords making the medicine.
In the Uk everyone over 60..( and everyone under 18)..get free prescription meds..

how much do you pay?.. we pay £1 for 5 minutes of air...total rip off..... (except I don't because I have my own tyre inflator)

I have not done this for about ten years so don’t know. We have an air compressor at the house.

School tax. I don't have children in school yet I pay the equivalent rate as others who do have children for school taxes. Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to contribute something to keep the educational system here strong but I'd like to get a discounted rate. None is available in this township.

same here... I mean ..now my daughter is 46 years old, why am I still paying for schools.. why is SHE paying when like you Leann, she has never had children.. you;re right , for services we never use we should get discounted rates..

even more in the system for "free" meds.
Healthy people all pay via taxes, insurance if they have it while young, and other open and hidden costs every day.

Not to mention the extra suffering , extra sicknesses, extra side effects, and often broken spirit/ broken moral, caused by the drugs and the system, without which deception many multitudes more could be safely and gently healed instead of on lifetime of drugs that harm.

Should healthy people not have to pay taxes or insurance or other fees and costs for sickness they do not have, to druglords they do not ever want to get anything from ?

That is something many people resent or feel and know is wrong.

I sure do.

Nope, we don't pay 'even more'' into the system..for 'free meds''... Very simply put.. as an employee we pay roughly one third of our salary in National insurance contributions and Tax.. this covers all medical operations, Hospital stays, medications whether for serious ailments or not.. they are free after the age of 60 or before the age of 18... WE never have to pay out of Pocket for anything.. unless we feel we need to get something attended to more urgently.....our N/insurance contributions covers our state pensions, disability benefits et al... nothing more is paid into the system after we retire.. and therefore we get everything free after that.. including eye tests...

My cable TV bill. I get 200+ channels. Wow, that sounds good in their ads. But what irritates me is that 100 are HD channels, and the other 100 channels are the same exact channels, but in non HD form. And there's absolutely no difference in the picture. If I only sent in half my cable bill, and told them it was regular money, but it was also HD money, do you think they buy it?

Pay "even more" still. "Even more" refers not only to any extra money ,
but also to even more sickness ongoing instead of remedied , even more time spent feeling poorly or terrible daily (when that occurs),
even more side effects from not finding the cause of a problem or an ailment and being given drugs for symptoms instead, drugs with side effects that often require more drugs with more side effects ..... and so on....
And all the years paid in from salary or taxes or other, while healthy,
was usually enough to stay healthy if told the truth.
