What is the best/most useful thing you own?

Mine's a RIGID too

It built our cabins

He will continue to love it for a very long time
Rigid is the best. They guarantee their tools for life. You can’t get better than that other than they are are sturdy well made tools.

Wow. A lot to consider. I shouldn't get attached to material things, but I do like my new pickup truck.
Also I have a hand built smoker made in Arkansas. (Not using in the winter though)
I have been smoking meat for years and this one is the best! (old fashioned offset stick burner for those that know)
Ribs, brisket, pork, chicken. I can smoke 9 chickens in an afternoon.

Yes, Gaer, it is that great IMHO. Prep is easy and cook time is reduced from hours to minutes by virtue of the fact that foods are pressure cooked. You can take less expensive cuts of meat (e.g., chuck, round, etc.) and turn them into top-shelf, roast dinners with meat that melts in your mouth. There are a lot of Instant Pot recipes online that can give you an idea of how easy it is to use. With use one tends to customize and there are now packets of spices and sauce mixes you can use. Soups (e.g., beef vegetable, union, chicken, etc.) are easily and quickly made.
Wow! Thank you! That sounds pretty intriguing!

My husband needs his for getting up since his stroke....such a great chair, helps my back so much ......
It is interesting what some people find helps their back. Having injured mine in a diving (i.e., showing off) accident in my 40s, two things seem to help a lot. One is lying flat on the floor and pressing my back into the hardwood. The other is the seat in our Miata, which probably has something to do with the contortions needed to get in and out.

All those mentioned are great and apply to many, so there aren't many left, so I'll say my house. Right now it's 18F degrees outside and a foot of snow, more or less, and I am warm and cozy (but a little bored).

At the moment my favorite gadget is my heated mouse pad. In the summer my favorite would be my old iPod that lets me listen to interesting podcasts while I mow and garden.
If someone would invent an inexpensive total housecleaning robot that would jump to the top of my list.

This I've found
I've had mine for six or seven years now
Nary a trouble, and I've ran it hard...daily
Changing out the blade is a bit of a chore
But, I use Diablo blades, so changing them out is only around once a year, if that

Yer guy will love it more and more as time goes by
I’m sure he’ll love it. He had another mitre saw but the guard came off but it wasn’t RIGID. He’s got a 20 year old RiGID table saw, Chop saw , hammer drill and an orbital sander. I’ve got a dwatt scroll saw and a king industrial lathe.
Having nice tools is sweet.
