If you don't google this, take a guess, if you do don't post it. Lets see if anyone can get it.

There are at least a few ways you could look at it.

One is RIAA certifications. In January, "BLANK" was certified 18-times platinum, tying it with Post Malone and Swae Lee’s “Sunflower” as the highest-certified song ever. However, in February, “Sunflower” re-took sole ownership of first place as it was certified 2-times diamond, or 20-times platinum. Currently in third behind both of those songs is Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” at 17-times platinum. Worth noting, though, is that RIAA certifications only take into account data from the United States.

I would have guessed "Michele" - Beatles

I would have picked Yesterday, by the Beatles. Back in the 1980's I heard that it was the song that has been recorded by the most number of singers.

We've always been told it''s ''White Christmas'' Bing Crosby
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby is not only the best-selling Christmas/holiday single in the United States, but also the best-selling single of all time since the advent of recorded music, with estimated sales in excess of 50 million copies worldwide.

It started with: "O Sole Mio." In April 1898, in the city of Odessa, in Ukraine, Eduardo Di Capua found the inspiration to compose the notes of the masterpiece, sitting at his piano and inspired by the emotions aroused by the observation of the sun which rose from the window to the Black Sea.

O Sole Mio was about to get the popular music treatment and a change of title name. It's Now Or Never had been the biggest international hit of Elvis Presley's career, eventually selling an astonishing 25 million copies worldwide. It had been number one in America over the summer of 1960, but British fans had to wait until just before Christmas 1960 to get a copy – this led to huge advance orders and the single entered the charts at number one, back in the days when this was an extraordinarily rare achievement.

"'O Sole Mio" has been performed and covered by many artists, including Enrico Caruso, Rosa Ponselle and her sister Carmella, Andrea Bocelli,Beniamino Gigli Richard Tucker and Mario Lanza. Sergio Franchi recorded this song on his 1962 RCA Victor Red Seal debut album Romantic Italian Songs. Luciano Pavarotti won the 1980 Grammy Award for Best Classical Vocal Performance for his rendition of "'O Sole Mio."

But the version that most Baby Boomer Brits will remember is an advert for Ice Cream.

Just One Cornetto.

But let's consider. The Chinese have 4000 years of continual history, a lot longer than Roman/Italian history, or British, or certainly more than the U.S. & Canada. The Chinese have always been noted as a historical-minded people. Their cultural memory reaches way back, waaaaaayyy back before the communist era (a newcomer that came in 1949). Today they have over a billion population, and so if any significant portion of the population sings 'some old song'... seems it would be bound to get the prize. ???

Imagine by the Beatles.
The question is too vague Dennis.

It’s a small world.

Happy Birthday ?
National anthems ?

Is it the most popular ‘recorded’ song of all time?

Guess what Bing did? Every mother says to her kids, let's pray for a white Christmas !
Sure, she hopes they go out and play in the snow all afternoon. Poor Girl most years.

Maybe they meant the longest song. I wonder what that biggest song would be.? Or maybe the one that had the tallest musicians in the band. Biggest hit dudes.? It could mean anything we want it too. But, make sure the answer you have is the correct one, because if you don't there is a hole in the floor that I will pull a lever and u'll fall through. Don't worry there is just small punch's ( not hits ) in the basement. :)
