What is the cheapest thing you bought that last the longest time?

I bought my hubby a back scratcher made out of a sliver of bamboo back in 1968. Cost 25¢ + 2¢ tax. He still has it, and uses it nightly.:eek:nthego:

Ina..I have one of those also..got it at an old import store when they were a warehouse in Portland about the same time you got yours. I still have it and it's my favorite. I've bought some others afterward, but they don't compare.

I have a couple of old bamboo rice spatulas that I bought in Hawaii years ago, probably under a dollar. I use them all the time and they're no worse for wear.

A DiamonDeb nail file for 39 cents in 1976. Couldn't do without it! It's good for more than a nail file. It's been used for all kinds of things, like a screwdriver, for instance:)

Hey me too, a roommate's dog chewed up the end of it, right after I got it, I still have it, it's finally getting pretty wore out.

Mine are freebies. My great grandmother's table spoon and Nana's rolling pin. Still use both often.

A flexible 'silver' bangle on a stall around 20 years ago for a couple of bucks that turned out to be real silver and it's still flexible and good as new after wearing it all the time ever since.

It's the greatest thing, always fits. Just bent it out when I got fat, and squashed it back in now I'm dropping weight.

Well, it wasn't cheap, but I have Tupperware from what seems like 100+ yrs ago and it's still in good shape. Can't think of anything else that's lasted that long.

Today I spied an old heavy fleece saddle blanket I've had for about 45 years. I bought it at a Montgomery Wards store when they used to sell saddles and horse tack. It's been out under the gazebo by the fire pit since we moved here. I keep it there for the dogs to lie on now when we have campfires in the evenings.

That old blanket has seen the backs of lots of horses and is still in good enough shape to last another 45 years, but Montgomery Wards is now long gone. I got my money's worth on that one.
