I miss the ocean. Sometimes I pull up "Soundzzz" of waves on the lap top.I love ocean waves sound.
When i lived on lower east side of NYC in late 60s i loved when we got heavy overnight snowfall, especially on a Sarurday. Sunday mornings were marginally quieter till 10 or 11 a.m. as it was but a heavy snow muffled sounds even more. Usually my early morning walk of 3-5 blocks to.get Sunday papers was goal oriented: get them and home. But those snowy ones, i'd linger in Tompkins Square Park just enjoying the quietThe absolute quiet when the snow is coming down hard with little or no wind.
The quiet is deafening!
They sure can. When we first moved here in 2012, our senior Pug-Shih Tzu mix seemed quite convinced at first that they were plotting against us not the rabbits, squirrels, and rodents. It took a lot of soothing for her to not go ballistic over their soundsI like to step outdoors, on a quiet night, and listen to the owls "hooting" in the forest. They can carry on quite a "conversation".
When it's running full the main Acquifer irrigation ditch sounds like a creek. And 1 or 2 wetter than usual years we actually heard frogs croaking.Water gurgling over the rocks in the creek.
Studies show that sound actually as positive, calming feel good effect on humans.I forgot one, cat purring.
I have them on my sound machine.I miss the ocean. Sometimes I pull up "Soundzzz" of waves on the lap top.

I love the quiet of the early morning hours when there are no sounds other than the incessant ringing in my ears from tinnitus. I have a built-in white noise generator! I only wish there was a way to turn it off.
No, my ears are clean. Even a cleaning at the doctor's office doesn't help.I've had intermittent issues with Tinnitus, for years....largely due to a buildup of earwax. My doctor recommended putting in a couple of drops of Debrox, waiting a few minutes, then flushing with a syringe and warm water. You can buy a basic "kit" at Walmart for about $10.....works good for me.
While at work, a friend asked me to go deer hunting with him. He lived in WV, so it sounded like a good time. The first day out, we hunted early in the morning and then about an hour before sunset. On the way back to his cabin, it was dark and snowy and we had to use flashlights to see our way. About 100 yards from the cabin, we heard the howl of a coyote. It was awesome. The western part of WV is really beautiful country. What is the coolest sound?
The high pitched coyote wail, slipping thru the pines of a misty evening
