What is the longest time you stood in line to buy tickets to an event ?

Lines for events are pretty much a thing in the past now but I am sure many of us did stand in long lines to get tickets to events such as movies or a concert back in the day. What is the longest you ever stood in line to get tickets for an event. For me, it was camping out overnight with friends to get a tickets to a Springsteen concert. It was the "Born in the USA" tour. For a movie, I think it was probably Star Wars. I remember we waiting in line for about two hours to get a reservation to stand in line to actually buy the tickets and that was probably another hour in that line.

I'm pretty sure I saw it opening day a month before that photo. No long lines, certainly no lines to stand in line.

It was both exhilarating and deeply disappointing. Nice effects, music, and such but a childish story: sword and sorcery and not science fiction as promised in the rags. That didn't keep me from spending precious money to watch it twice more before the mobs discovered it and prices went up.

Perfect for the masses though I suppose.

No, the long lines were at theme parks and such in my experience. There were long lines for Batman '89 though and a really long line around the building for The Rocketeer, disappointing in its own way but still not as bad as some will claim today.

grandparents ?..OMG that's sobering....how fast time goes...

I worked as an usherette in the Cinema when this film was released... so I got to see it hundreds of times..for free. in fact I was paid to see it. Around the same time we had Alien, and Manhattan showing in the other 2 theatres which were part of our 3 Cinema complex at that time. We had queues every night for weeks for all three films..

Star wars had 7 minutes of credits.. and when the last showing of the night was finishing, we would be anxious to get closed up and get home ( around 11.30pm).. but there was always ONE customer who wanted to sit until the curtain closed before leaving, so we had to wait patiently until they were gone..
