De javu is a timing error in your brain. Normally, information gets to all parts of your brain at about the same time. But sometimes data gets rerouted, so one part of your brain gets the data a few milliseconds than the rest. It's kind of like an echo effect, which gives you the impression that you done this before. This is pretty common. It doesn't mean your previous life as Cleopatra is coming through.:)

I was advised by a neuropsychologist that déjà vu is actually a neurological condition. She stated that the brains processing slows down and speeds up and then you have a feeling or sensation that you’ve experienced that particular situation before when in fact it’s just a slow down and speed up of the brains processing. When I was younger I had it very frequently and it led me to believe in the possibility of reincarnation, but this latter explanation made more sense to me.

Not really sure about the explanations already given, but I can tell you of my own experience... When I was very small under 6 , we lived in a different city to my grandmother.. To get to her home meant a long train journey then a ride on the subway train, then a walk of about a mile and a half through a myriad of city streets...
We took this first trip when I was 4 years old, and as we exited the subway.. I announced ( and I actually remember this although it's was subsequently spoken about in later years)... that I knew the way to my grannys' house, and my parents and siblings should follow... They knew I'd never been there so they kinda dismissed it, thinking that any second I would take the wrong turn and they would correct me but they walked behind me anyway..but not so, I lead them straight to the front door...

How could I have known that?..except that I felt I had already been there before...

I've had many experiences of deja vu since that first time !!

Duh, what's up, doc

I have known for decades I would be here, just over 30 years ago I was shown that.
Over those 30 years, I was shown highs and lows. The fight to keep my home through these years.
As of 6 months ago, I was shown it will end here. There is no time set to this.
Don't ask, I won't go any further in this.

I know this is a most unpopular view but I ABSOLUTELY believe in reincarnation. Not that we can come back as lower beings, but we can come back here if that is what our soul desires. The senses of the physical (in a body) are needed to evolve and let our soul grow towards God. Please try to refrain from being too critical in your response. I'm not trying to convince you. "One convinced against his will is of the same opinion still."

Déjà vu is not reincarnation but since you mentioned it...
Your hypothesis is based upon the existence of a soul and of God, neither of which can be proven and are therefore subject to debate. Since I have not retained one speck of information from a previous life, I am convinced that reincarnation, if it exists, is pointless. It's just as well. In a previous life, I probably made my living pumping-out portable toilets...memories I don't need.

'there is more in heaven and earth...'

a lady friend, whom I have no reason to doubt whatsoever, had a two-timing spouse. after several month of this, she got in her car one night, drove straight to her spouse's love nest. 🤫
This was in Dallas, which is not a small town.
Within the year she was enrolled in USC'S, Para-Normal program

As a boy (5-6 y'o) some of the ladies were gathered around a table for
a session of 'table knocking,' (go goggle). the table would rise up, knock once for yes, twice for no.
I was under the table for 20 minutes, it was a large oak table, no one
'assisted' the table rising or falling.
It only worked when a particular female was present, a MS Owl.

'there are more...'

Reincarnation does not exist. Houdini and my father both promised to give some type of sign after death if possible. Neither ever did.

ISorry,I thought someone mentioned reincarnation. You can tell a lot about a person by the way they respond to someone with who's opinions they differ. I'm impressed that you expressed your opposite opinion without belittleing me for my beliefs. That says a lot about you!

And then there's:

Deja Voodoo - Hasn't somebody already put this curse on me?

Deja Moomoo - I've milked this cow before.

Deja DooDoo - That guy better not let his dog poop on my yard again!

Deja Kookoo - This craziness AGAIN???

Deja Boo-boo - I make the same mistake every time!

Deja Tutu - We're going to the ballet AGAIN?

Deja Wooooooooo - I could ride this rollercoaster a thousand times!

I just suddenly had the feeling that I read this before.

jerry old: Did you (inadvertantly) move the table? Table rising are just expressions off lowly spirits. One should not even give them credence.

absolutely not-this event happened many times (my mother drug me to the gathering as I needed monitoring, I was a pain)
I mentioned Ms. Owl (no her name was Dow)
the ladies meet in our empty basement many times, if ms. dow was not present the table would not knock. when under the table I watched ms. dow, she did not touch the table with her legs

(you have to keep both palms face down on the table)
I was a little kid, I could set under the table touching nothing.

changing topic:
how about out of body experiences-as in those that 'have died' yet their
spirit (???) hovers over the operating room observing before it reenters
the body.
I had one as a boy about 4-5.

there are some very peculiar events going on in this world, we have no grasp of, many

jj can take a phrase, twist it, get all the juice out of it till it's ready to be
chunked in the trash.
(where you hiding that sense of humor of yours, miss it)

Lakeland-makes you wonder, that door is closed, we will honor her privacy

Naught: you know the folks that posted, their real people with real events
that have occurred. Their not trying to impress anyone; there is no explanation for their experiences.

When I was twelve, I had a memory or strong it hurt the interior of my chest. I could not remember what it was, my brain did not hurt, but my chest did-a pressure as if I could regurgitate (note no tummy upset)
The pressure and the extreme need to remember lasted for hours.

My older sister came home at dark, I told her about it, as I rubbed my chest.
"That's Dejq Vu, you remember something, or think you do."
she walked into the house.
It's dark I remained outside, the pressure abated somewhat, as did the
cognitive pressure.

that was 66 years ago, if I concentrate I can bring up the chest pressure and the brain seeking, seeking.

put in my two penny worth on this - I believe when it happens it is a past life -not as you are now but
another being ' reincarnation to me does exist' why we say the soul never dies ! but its fine to have your own beliefs
but not to mock someone else -
