What is this Stanley drinking cup craze about?

I'm seeing stories of arrests, firings, hoarding etc all over these Stanley drinking cups. What is the big deal or what is so special about the cup. Did a social media influencer push these things? The new pet rock?

I just think it is the "fad of the week". When I was in the rehab center after my hip surgery last year, every other staff member had the Yeti cups

I;ve got 2 of these, had them for months ... generic name ... but the exact same thing..didn't cost $45 dollars instead they cost me £10 from Temu...they're excellent at keeping things cold, just what I needed last summer when it was really hot

It's about idiots who confuse Social Media with real life.

My New York Islanders used to drink from the Stanley Cup all of the time. Well at least for 4 years in a row!!!
