What is your favorite musical instrument?

I like clarinets! And also violins. I think most instruments are neat. If the person doing the playing is good. At church we have a 17 year old who does a wonderful violin, our pastor's daughter does some tremendous piano playing and her husband does a beautiful clarinet. The favorite is the violinist since he is such a tremendous young person. He respects everyone regardless of age which I see not very often these days. And his playing has made me really enjoy the violin which I didn't before.
 

My Grandma played a juice harp. I don't know if I would classify that as an instrument let alone music.
 
I can't play any musical instruments [not even the kazoo in an unusual way!]
However, I love the sound of a sax, gives me goosepimples [Baker Street.] In classical music, I think the piano, or pieces of music written for violins.I know we are talking musical instruments, but I love choral pieces too.

I always enjoyed listening to my husband's tenor saxophone. .. He played in a band for years. He passed the love of the sax down to our son, who has also played for years now.
 
I was in the Tune-a-Flute band in the third grade. Remember those? Little black flute-like plastic thingies? They kept them in a bucket full of some sort of disinfectant between uses and then fish 'em out, shake 'em off and hand 'em around. I will remember the taste of that disinfectant until my dying day.
 
My accordion! Only play very old German folk music on it.
My very first Hohner accordion split
in transit, very foolishly handed it over to a second-hand shop.
The second one was much smaller, had a limited number of bass, sold it for $40.- at a German bazaar.
The third one has the best sound of all, bought it from a music shop owned by two brothers, near the Vic. market.
Unfortunately, find it very heavy now, but it still cheers me up on sad days!!

The piano... for an instument that can stand alone. However, what would Rock and Roll be without a strong Bass Guitar? Got to love it when a low mean bass comes into the mix..

BTW, QS, you should probably also hate rainbows and roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. Just sayin....
 
Oh, no!!!! Not brown paper packages tied up with string! Oh, dear me. There is no hope. None whatsoever. What about the tooth fairy? After your adventures in teeth this week, the tooth fairy should be right up there at the top of your "like" list!
 
From the time I was a little kid, I have loved carousels, and the wonderful music, played by an old-fashioned steam calliope, or sometimes played on a huge Wurlitzer Theater Organ.
I enjoy listening to most organ music; but when I hear the calliope playing, it takes me back to being 9 years old, and riding the Looff Carosel at Natatorium Park in Spokane.

Whatsisname, The Father of My Children, played piano and organ. We had both, and when he played the kids (when they were toddlers and young elementary school age) danced. They loved it when Daddy sat down to play. So did I:) Only one of the kids has kept up an interest in music. Drat.
