What is your favorite type of movie?

Things are getting stranger and stranger. Yes, with the exception of Mr. Peabody & The Mermaid (I never heard of it) I loved each and every one of the movies mentioned. The Fifth Element, Independence Day, both of them watched at least five times! Easy to do when you're forgetful! :) Avatar, twice! (About to be watched a third time!) Starman, twice!

BTW, I found Will Trent on CTV (a Canadian Channel), only drawback: it's with commercials, but I will give it a go anyway despite my extremed dislike of constant interruptions to a story!
I thought you had Hulu? If you don't, you could do a free trial for Hulu Plus (no ads) and probably watch all the episodes before the trial is over.
Here's more info about that: https://www.techradar.com/news/hulu-free-trial

I am watching the second episode of Will Trent at this very moment (well until I came back to the forum for a minute). Commercials are minimal, so all is good! Did you ever watch "The Rookie?" It's a very good crime series!

Yes, The Rookie is one of my shows. I started watching it with my husband when it first came out then got away from it. Usually my husband would fall asleep before the end of an episode and I got tired of waiting for him to watch stuff. After he passed, I got back into it and am all caught up. I also like The Rookie Feds. Wasn't sure I would at first. There have been a few crossovers between the two shows which I expect to continue. I also was a fan of another Nathan Fillian show...Castle.

Love Nathan Fillion and watched every single episode of Castle! If I had to describe the perfect series for me it would be Castle. Crime with lots of light heartedness mixed in. I generally don't like my shows too grim! I also watched every episode of Bones, which was more serious and even gruesome at times, but I liked it just the same!

I tried to watch Bones when there was a Sleepy Hollow-Bones crossover. I found it unbearable. For some reason I don't care for David Boreanaz, not even since his Buffy days. Also while Emily Deschanel's sister Zooey is hands down the worst actress I've ever seen, I found Emily to be quite annoying, so decided during the crossover that it is one show I can cross off my list.
I watched Bones for the first time during the Sleepy Hollow-Bones crossover episode. For some unknown reason, I do not care for David Boreanaz, haven't since his Buffy days. Also, while Emily Deschanel's sister Zooey did one of the worst acting jobs I've ever seen, I found Emily to be just plain annoying. 😖 I decided during the crossover that it was one show I could cross off my list.
Because Nathan is so watchable I tried to watch the highly touted Firefly (twice) but I just couldn't get into it. I like his costar Gina Torres too, coincidentally named Zoe in the series. The Rookie was cited in a recent article as being so different and likable compared to other procedurals due to its ability to mix crime and comic elements. I know I must've really been into Castle at one time because several years ago my honorary granddaughter bought a Castle season on DVD for my birthday.

I partially agree with your assessment of "Bones!" I liked the show very much at first but later on Emily Deschanel's (Dr. Temperance Brennan??) inability to grasp how ordinary humans behave, despite her super intelligence, got to be a bit too much. The series also got too serious toward the end. Still, I watched it to the bitter end!

I understand. When we've invested time in these shows we do tend to want to see them through. What I've done, however, is if I've tired of a show (eg: Arrow, The Flash, The Last Ship), I'll watch the final one or two episodes just to see how they wrapped the show up. That gives me a sense of closure.

@Youngster Looking over a list of Public Domain Movies available, a couple stood out.
Think you're onto a good idea.

The Man with the Golden Arm - 1955
D.O.A. - 1949
The Stranger - 1946
The Snows of Kilimanjarro - 1952
Second Chorus - 1940
Scarlet Street - 1945
Road to Bali - 1952
Of Human Bondage - 1934
Night of the Living Dead - 1968
Kansas City Confidential - 1952

Plenty more movies out there, these are just the one's that I've watched and enjoyed.
