What is your number #1 rule in friendships?

Some of my closest friends are people who, when we first met, I didn't like much let alone thought we would be friends and yet, sometimes they are the best friends because, you come to understand them and discover the person beneath whatever opinion you had of them in the first instance.

I guess my number one rule, when it comes to friendships, is not to waste your time on people whose company you do not enjoy. Friendships should be easy, enjoyable and non-profit making ;):)

I don’t have much use for whiners, complainers, and victims.

When it comes to friends I gravitate towards independent self sufficient people that don’t really seem to need or expect much from me.
Absolutely! Put them in the bin with the bullies, users and the me, me, me's and hope the dustmen take them away! 🤭:)

Always remember where we parked. If we both forget, then it just became a fun overnight adventure.
A true friend repeats the gossip slowly so I can catch it with my good ear.
The memory of someone eating the last slice of pizza without sharing? That’s forever and not friendly at all.
In the end, the #1 rule of friendship is easy: laugh often, forgive quickly ... and never let the other person control the remote.
Exactly. I don't have rules for friends and tend to make connections easily. Can't say I've ever been burned. I like people and engage strangers in conversation at the drop of a hat.

It's kind of a standing family joke:
One of our kids might call DH and ask what's going on and he'll say something like, "We're standing in line at the grocery checkout - I'm emptying the basket while your mom's making new friends with the woman in front of us - you'll probably meet her at our next pizza party."
🤷‍♀️ It's how I roll...

I would so talk to you if you engaged me in conversation.
