What is your pet peeve or what are some of them?

Do you have a Menard's?
Ha! Mernards is one of my pet peeves! I have been there and kind of like the store but hate their 11% rebate program. Having to fill out the post card and mail off the receipt, then you receive your coupon and have to go back to the store to spend the money. Also they don't offer the rebate during peak buying periods.

Then there's their fill a bag sale, anything you can fit in the brown paper bag is suppose to be 15% off. But guess what? It's not "anything" that fits in the bag, it's only selected items and you don't find out until you are checking out. I walked out leaving a sump pump sitting by the register because they wouldn't give me the brown bag discount. I said fine, you put it back

I get it's all a marketing plan but don't like that business practice.

I thought any job a man can do, a woman can do just as well if not better. My poor male brain is confused.
I don't understand why they help carry it. Of course most men are stronger, but why should they carry? They hate it too. Just use a lift thing for it. Or order it and let some strong guys with a carry thing who don't mind carrying stuff and get paid for it, do it.

I didn’t think I had any pet peeves until I went to the Feed store today and I was reminded of something that has been tissing me off for 23 years.

I have even written to Tractor supply’s corporate office, but it didn’t do any good.

Today was a perfect example. The store knows me and it is amazing how the men in that store can find something else to do when I walk through the door and sometimes need help getting 50 pound bags of feed off the shelves and always need help getting product loaded in my car. I never leave that store without 150 to 200 pounds of horse feet sometimes a 38 pound bag of birdseed and a 38 pound bag of dog food is added to that.

The men disappear and the store manager who is a ****head is the worst of the lot.

So who has to help me load? Always the women and most of those women are tiny little things that are gonna tear their insides out by the time they’re done working at tractor supply.

it is absolutely infuriating that the men won’t step up and say to the girls “finish for me and I will help her load her car”. Nope, they would rather use their little scanner to do a job that the most exercise they’re getting is when their finger hits the clicker thing on the scanner.

It’s the same at both tractor supply stores within my driving area.
Once in my life someone from a store helped me carry something to my bike. I don't think you can expect them to do that.

TSC (Tractor Supply Co.) is a farm store, the ones near me always load when people need help. I believe Imogene is around 80 years old, it should be those male employees pleasure to load her truck! Heck if I was there I would load it for her, as I would help anyone, male or female, young or old, who looked like they needed help.

As a kid my friend had a female dog and when she was in heat and we had to walk her, we had to run and hide to get rid of the interested male dogs.
If your friends female dog had been fixed, the dog wouldn't have had so many admirers. When we were kids though, society (as a rule) didn't put much thought into the quality of life of dogs like most do now.

Click bait period.... what is masqueraded as news ...
1. Use a location byline especially when there are many cities in different countries and states with same name. I read about a crash or incident and find out halfway thru article not my city but one with same name in a state on the other side of country. or even disaster headlines in a place across the globe but they fail to mention what country til paragraph 3

2. Misinformation only gets worse repeating it over and over .... April fool's joke about luggage needing to be transparent has been repeated over and over. All article failing to mention ORIGINAL was an April fool's joke. Seems like some people make a living over hyping up and repeating other people's joke.

3. All these things missing common sense.... news should not be speculation using words like could, possibly, maybe, might or in some contorted scenario, something will be bad etc. Telling people things are illegal or tax issues when each state or country has different rule/ laws and tax system so NOT a one size fits all just hype up something to end article that it only applies to one or two places.

4. Speculations about others..... bad or worse altered picture/ they must be sick etc. Travel by themselves / marriage must be bad Having lunch with a friend must be affair

5. Someone already mentioned the misuse " breaking news".

6. labeling everyone and everything so people make assumptions about others. this is divisive.

Men will do jobs women could do but most don’t. How many women work at the job of cleaning out portable-potties? I understand they make up only 4% of those workers.

A long time ago, I had a job where I delivered boxes of copy paper to office locations. Each box weighed about 50 pounds. A typical order was 10 boxes, which weighed about 500 pounds. That required three trips from my van to the reception area of the customer company, using a heavy duty hand truck. Once I had placed the boxes in the reception area, my job was done.

Guess how many women were willing to pick up and carry even one box of paper? They wanted me to carry the boxes to a storage closet way down the hallway. I said I would do it BUT, I wanted $5 for moving each box to their desired location. Nobody was willing to pay me to do that. My parting words were......I am sure you will figure this out, some time. Today's T.V. and film writers think they're doing something by adding the F word and other profanities in every sentence of the script. It's distracting, extremely annoying and unnecessary. I've stopped watching most of the shows and films where this is the case. I'll admit there are a couple I like so much that I tolerate it. We've had excellent T.V. shows, films and writers in the past that never had to resort to using profanity.

What's the deal with people who feel the need to argue about every little thing?

I made a completely innocuous and slightly humorous post in another forum and got a nasty response from one of the members there. So I asked myself if I should respond in kind with a nasty post? I looked at his posting history and pretty much every post he makes in the forum is argumentative. At least it's not just me he's that way with.

I decided not to respond at all. I think that's the best way to deal with somebody like that online.

I used to be on a christian forum. Those are the worst. The friendly people are in a coffee group, but the ones debating Bible topics or theology smash each other's heads in. I tried to keep the peace once and told 2 adult men to play nice. Didn't work. Made me wonder if they had nothing to say at home, so came online to fight a random person.

I find myself trying to keep irritations in check lately. I am 74 and don't want peeves to keep me upset
and take away precious minutes of my happiness. I spend enough time being peeved at myself more than
other people unless they touch me. Like bumping into me instead of saying "Excuse me" to pass by me.
But I am working on that myself, if I see someone approaching I make sure they have room to pass by.
I find that is helping a lot.
I know what you mean about people bumping into you instead of saying "Excuse me" to pass you. On the other hand, it's aggravating to go to the store and another shopper blocks the isle chit chatting with someone and you have to say "Excuse me" to get them to move. Most times they know full well you're wanting to get through. I think that's so rude and inconsiderate.

A big pet peeve of mine also is when you're out in public and people with small children let them run amok unsupervised. Whether it be at a restaurant, grocery store, etc..,some parents must think it's entertaining to us people going about our business to have to deal with their child's intrusion. It's not my place to entertain their kid.

This just happened to me the other day at Walmart, and I nearly snapped at the woman. She had stopped with her cart, literally smack in the middle of the aisle, and she was cluelessly chatting away on her phone (so, two pet peeves at once).

Some of the local cafes in my part of Toronto have cracked down on the behavior of kids whose parents are oblivious to what the kid is doing. One of the legal reasons cited was the possibility of accidental injury, to either the child OR an employee, caused by kids who are running around uncontrolled.

Canada's Wonderland is a huge Toronto area theme park. They have announced that after 4pm each day, any child under 15 MUST HAVE an adult WITH THEM , or they won't be admitted to the grounds. And if security ejects the teen ager, the adult is also ejected from the property.
