What is your sexual preference?

So the blood bank misses out on a needed donation because he is too pig headed to answer a simple question.

Yes the answer is obvious in his case but the questions are just asked of everyone, what a mountain out of a molehill he is making.
Don't you see anything wrong with that kind of prying into our personal lives? What about our privacy? Personally, I think when a man is not allowed to donate blood because he does not conform to the invasion of our privacy, we can gain an understanding of how the Nazi gained so much power. However, I will confess I am a little obsessed with what happened in Germany. My parents discussed such matters at the dinner table. At that time, people suspected of having communist leanings were blackballed from working in the movie industry, and we knew at least one person who was a communist.

I kind of enjoy reflecting back on life to understand how I think and feel today.

What I can't figure out is if I can identify as another gender, why can't I identify as another age? Is there any reason why I can't identify as a two-year-old to get into Disney for free? Is there any reason that a person can't identify as 65 to get Social Security?
It wouldn't be surprising.. I've already read about people claiming to be 'trans-racial' and 'trans-abled'..

No - I see nothing wrong with blood donation screenings asking about relevant medical issues like pregnancy which is what the post of mine you quoted was addressing - the man in question wasn't "not conforming to invasion of privacy" he was refusing to tick a box because the answer was too obvious, not because it invaded his privacy

Re your OP question - as the form gives an option of " I dont want to answer" just tick that if you don't want to answer

To me questions relating to sex or sexual orientation are no different than invasive questions about the level of education, income, number of people in the household, etc…

If the question makes sense in a given situation I answer it truthfully and if it doesn’t I leave it blank. So far I’ve never had anyone comment or challenge me.

Sexual preference: twice a week! 😉🤭😂

I don't want to answer. I put that on my clinic chart. I just don't feel it's anyone's business but mine.
It's no one's business unless the person was transgender with a medical problem related to their biological make up. Exp: A female identifying as a male that was having gynecological problems.

I'm not writing to disagree, with your post, but it reminded me of what happened recently when I was completing a pre-registration for a dermatologist visit. There was one question, "What is your annual income?" When I tried skipping it and moving on, it wouldn't let me. A pop up said "An answer is required."

Why? I could put anything down. This happened on a day when I was in a good mood and didn't want a confrontation, so they lucked out. I can be a very different person on some other day.

Wow, it’s like they want to know what price bracket the items you need should be pushed upon you.

That's kind of an unusual and interesting request. I wouldn't know why they would ask a patient that. I can see asking for your insurance card or Medicare card. Your income should not be relevant unless you were private pay and it still shouldn't be relevant then. The only thing they should know then is how you plan to pay it.

I am glad to have that "I don't want to answer" choice. The first time these sexual preference questions were asked, we did not have that choice, so I wrote in that choice. I was so offended! I am sure my grandmother would not approve of those questions, and when I think of defending the US, I think that is the nation my parents and grandmother defended, not what we have become.

The past was not perfect. Somethings needed to be changed. We certainly are in a phase of transition, and I am more comfortable with that if we talk about it and have a degree in power. Just complying is not the best choice.

Whoo! It is not just the question that is wrong, but also making it mandatory. It is the values and mentality of the question that we should question. What is going on here? Isn't it dehumanizing and a power shift that is a threat to the social order we defended in wars? My concern may seem excessive, and yes, I am hypersensitive because this is how Nazi Germany evolved.

AI says:
Medical groups collect patient income information primarily to facilitate access to financial assistance, determine insurance eligibility, and address social determinants of health that impact care outcomes. Knowing a patient's income allows providers to tailor treatment plans to what a patient can afford, reducing financial strain and improving compliance with medical advice.

AI says:
That's what I was thinking. In Holland there's social healthcare, so you get the cheapest. If people complain and want the more expensive brand meds they don't get them.

The vet wouldn't ask, but he would say: you can do this test for your guinea pig, but it costs 80 euro. Do you want that or shall we skip it? That was one of the cheap vets where all the people went with little incomes. The vet with the big house and double prices doesn't ask.

I understand what you're saying. My moods often impact how I react, depending upon the question, and I choose my battles. In this particular case, and on the day I posted about, I entered my income. Had they asked certain other personal information, particularly my Social Security number, they would not get it (on any day) because all they need is a copy of my Medicare card to file a claim.

Seriously we have to register to participate in the Senior Meals and that means filling out a National Aging Program Information Systems (NAPIS) Registration Form. My grandmother, the real Vida May, might go into a state of shock if she were aware of this interest in our sex lives.

It begins with "Please describe your gender in any way you prefer.
What is your gender? Are you transgender? Please describe your sexual orientation or sexual identity in anyway you want". "How do you describe your sexual orientation or gender identity"

Our choices are
Same-gender loving
Same-sex loving
Lesbian
Gay
Bisexual
Straight
Pansexual
Asexual
Queer
Questioning
Not Listed/Please Specify
Don't know
I don't know what this question is asking
I don't want to answer.

 How about I am attracted to good-looking and charming male robots with top-of-the-line AI and perfectly programmed to please me, with none of those disgusting or irritating things humans do? I don't have to cook for him, or clean up after him, because he does all of that and the only things he says to me are the things I want to hear. What sexual orientation does that make me? 😘

Or my grandmother might say, "To each, his own said the lady as she kissed the cow".
Thank you for sharing this. Now when you find the place to order that robot....let me know!
