I was a software engineer in the aerospace industry. I didn't wear a hat back then, though. I still had most of my hair.

But there is the occasional need for a mossback and they are hard to find!

Mother: 1976.
Enlisted in Air National Guard to Air Force Reserve to Air Force Active duty. Worked as enlisted medic, enlisted civil engineering technologist then commissioned. Officer Education and Training at Maxwell AFB; Officer, Hospital Medical Services Corps Officer. (1980-2000).
Mother again in 1986; 1988; last time 1994. (Four kids total)
College degrees: 1981 (Civil Engineering); 1984 (Hospital/Health Services Administration); 1990 (Gerontology Master's); 2005 (Bachelor of Science, Nursing (At age 50): my what to do in retirement plan)
College Instructor 1990-1991
Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse (NICU) 2005-2009.
2011-2012 Pediatric Supervisory Nurse Specialist
2012 Usher for a large movie theater.
2022 Cashier for Shipley's Donuts
Present: Landscaping design and consulting.
Grandmother of eight.

Being a school teacher needs special education,
air force officer also must have special education, etc...
My father was an air force officer, a pilot, then a teacher at Air force military university. I remember he studied a lot.

My favorite job was my first "real" job, in what was then called the "Data Processing Department" of an insurance company. The job was just so-so, but still brings back my best memories, since that's where I met my wife.

Then I worked for a time in accounting for the now defunct "Morton's Potato Chips" in Dallas.

But my longest lasting job (23 years) was my last one, in the accounting department of a Dallas clothing manufacturer.

I have mainly been in food service or some sort of housekeeping position my entire life. I've been in restaurants, nursing homes, motels and hospitals all these years. As soon as I'm able to find something I will be getting a desk job because of my COPD. My pulmo wants me to get something less physically demanding. Will be my first ever desk job. I think I will enjoy it but it will take getting used to.

Started my own commercial concrete construction company
After 14 years of that I had a heart attack and 6 way bypass. After I recovered from that I started an excavation company (I was an artist, I was a sculptor of the earth)
Heart disease got worse, had minor stroke so I retired
