What kind of news sites do you like?

New York Times - I subscribe
MSNBC
Philadelphia Inquirer - My hometown paper, I also subscribe
CNN
SmartNews - on my iPad, it's a news aggregator from all different sources

I wish I could find just one news source that reported the unbiased facts, without any other agenda or the need to sensationalize.
Ah, the impossible dream. The news media is a for profit industry; they target the desired demographics of their advertisers and slant the news to the political affiliations of the owners.

I get most of my news on the Internet....local, global, finance, etc. I watch the local morning TV news and the evening network news...mostly ABC, and I flip through the cable news channels, CNN, Fox, HLN, etc., randomly....hoping to actually find some news between the endless commercials.

If I were filthy rich, I would buy a major portion of one of these "news" channels, with the stipulation that commercials be limited to no more than 5 minutes of each 30 minute broadcast.....presently, it seems that these channels spend as much time on advertising as the do on the news.

I usually watch the BBC, even though they are prejudiced, mainly because there are no ads. Ads can be very intrusive, especially when there is a serious incident being reported. I think they should only show ads on the half-hour. Constant ads trivialise everything.

Houston news and have gone from channel 11 CBS to 13 ABC to now channel 2 NBC as my favorite. The cable news is way too political to the point of out right lying and that is not the job media news outlets.
