What Kind of Sunglasses Do You Wear?

I always buy prescription sunglasses.. in fact I just paid for another pair yesterday.

Usually I buy 2 pars of specs for one price at Specsavers...a pair or reading glasses or distance glasses, and a pair of prescription specs.. ..but I don't need any normal glasses currently , so I just bought the sunglasses.. ÂŁ130..roughly... and that was with very cheap frames...

I wear Sunglasses every time I go outside even in winter.. but not when it's raining or dark.. but even when it's overcast. Just trying to ensure I don't get cataracts

I wear my prescription glasses that have transitional lenses

Right now I am wearing an old pair because I stepped on my current pair and knocked a lense out. I tried to fix them but couldn't after many tries.

The pair I'm wearing make some things blurry and there is a crack in the one lense. I badly need to get new ones.

Oakley Half Jacket 2.0 XL 3P here. Sunglare Category 3 (High). Filter 'P' (Polarized). Not recommended for twilight or night driving. Lightweight and durable.

I suffer from mild macular degeneration. I wear my Oakley's whenever I'm outside or driving (except night, of course [above]).

This is my second set of Oakley's in recent years. First set lasted ten years before the polarizing began visibly breaking down. I expect no less service life from this set. Cost me ~ in the neighborhood of $150 USD.

"....Give them lager and sunglasses."

My regular glasses are the transitional lenses. That’s not good enough for most of the time when I’m outside. If it’s not too bright I wear a ball cap. My sunglasses are the fit over, polarized style. They’re huge and they’re ugly but one does what one has too. My blind eye is permanently dilated. Sometimes I wear a visor in the house.

After my glaucoma-cataract surgeries during which my eye specialist changed my vision to 20/20, I went crazy buying sunglasses. I know I had a pair of Foster Grants, which believe it or not, I got from a 99 cent store. I didn't seek to buy name brand glasses; some of them I got from Dollar Tree. I just made sure they had UV protection. Now that I need to wear glasses again, I ordered ones with Transitions lenses. So my regular glasses are also my sun glasses.

Sad to hear that Jules, you're dealing with a lot regarding your vision.....hugs. Mine is very bad, and has deteriorated in the last five to ten years. I walk around with flashlights, often wear a ballcap for the sun, which I hate, and none of my glasses make my vision clear and perfect....although I spend my days constantly switching them out to read or do something. I figure it would be cheaper to get the clip on, flip ups for the glasses I use outdoors, rather than buy an expensive pair that may not be that good to begin with and may need to be changed again in the future.

I've been told to wear prescription sunglasses when going out into the strong sunlight as I have just been diagnosed with the start of Macular.
Good advice. I have late stage Dry Macular Degeneration/Geographic Atrophy, no fun. :(Wearing sunglasses more often in my younger days may have helped, but no going back.

Tortoise Shell Sunglasses...not expensive.
But I rarely wear them because I prefer seeing
the world in it's natural colors...good or bad.
I just like it real.
So do I Lara, did all my life....but it came back to bite me in my old age. I always hated wearing sunglasses and hats, doing more of that now that the tables have turned.

Thank you for that tip, Seabreeze. I wondered about that. So I've started wearing sunglasses when I take the dogs for a bikeride during the time when the sun is right in my eyes and sometimes add a visor to that scenario.

I buy inexpensive sport sunglasses that have bifocal lenses. The bifocal feature is a must for me. They're about $20 so inexpensive enough that I have multiple pairs, both cars, garage, tractor, mower, always a pair at hand. They're decent looking and have OK quality lenses so I see no reason to spend more.
