I'd buy the Camry.
Due to a drastic drop in income I recently had to surrender a Chevrolet Sonic hatchback manual shift. I would not recommend one of those.
What did you find wrong with the Chevrolet Sonic hatchback? I'm thinking about buy the Chevrolet Sonic because of the price or buying the Honda Fit or even a small Toyota pick-up truck. They will all be used.

I don't recommend one of these Flintstones conveyances. Sure, they're environmentally friendly, but the ride's rough, and they have almost no shock absorption at all! If driving, your feet get fat, and you apparently suffer toe loss. Top of my list of ten worst vehicles! I'll take a Snorkasaurus or saber-tooth cat, though... :)

I buy the wife an new VW Tiguan every couple years. They are great cars, she has been in two accidents, not her fault, but vehicles totaled and she walked away. So I feel comfortable with them. She has VW's for 30 or so years with one honda. I on the other hand drive nothing but my historical vintage vehicles. They take a lot of work and restoration, which I really enjoy.

What ride you chose now is the time to buy. All dealerships push to get their sales numbers up at year's end. Also don't be fooled in to thinking this ride or that ride is built in country A or B. The truth is there are many contributing outside vendors supplying components to auto makers and some of them would not know quality if you hit them on the head with it. Think about the airbag recall. How many different vehicles manufacturers were and still are involved in that fiasco?
