We are in Key West and of course, everyone wanted our picture taken with the "Most Southern Point" marker. I will send a picture when I get home in a few days. Great weather here where I am, but some parts of Florida are getting drenched big time.
The Rocky steps in Philadelphia. The photo is my daughter after she ran them. Her last name is Stallone now that she's married. Her husband is from Philadelphia and is something like a 32nd cousin of Sylvester Stallone. He's never met the guy, but what the heck. It's still a legitimate name drop, right?
For me, it is the Empire State Building. I loved that building since I was a kid. I have a model of the building for every room in my house., a three foot one in my computer room, pictures on the wall. I can't tell you the amount of times I've been to the top- even the 102nd floor. And I own it. Yes, I said I own the Empire State Building. Well, I own the corporation, which owns the building. Well, I own some stock in the corporation, which owns it.. Okay, I own one share of stock in the corporation. So, technically I own a door knob in the building, but I do own it. It's all legal and stuff. My name is listed as an owner. Every three months I get my share of the rent= $0.09. Hey, it adds up.
This is rather out there. But I gotta know. In chic's post above is the beautiful USS Constitution, built in 1797 It's regally sailing away with little boats all around her trying to catch up. My question is how is she able to move? There is a nice wake behind her so she is going at some speed, but as a "sailing" ship, she doesn't have any sails unfurled. ????????? I tried googlin it, but nada. Does she have an engine hidden somewhere?????
