Pepper, in 1974 Venice, Florence, Rome and other spots of Italy were still very lovely. They aren't anymore. No, @hollydolly. It was a separate trip for the whole summer of '74. Should have said Most, not all, of Italy.

so how come you live in the appt you were born in, what happened to your other apartment.. ?I went back & forth to Europe, back & forth for years, would stay months or year at a time. Airlines were so cheap, $100. round trip. Kept apartment in NYC sometimes too, @hollydolly
My buddy was a projectionist at a local theater, I watched Charles Heston make his classic 'death' ride at the end of 'El Cid' At least 20 times when I went to pick up mt buddy. 'El Cid' was not a blockbuster either.I saw Star wars about 100 times.
What other apartment? I've lived in many places, so have you. This apartment was the wisest financial choice; I own it.so how come you live in the appt you were born in, what happened to your other apartment.. ?
I've not seen 99% of the Marvel movies either... I did go with my youngest daughter to one of the early Spider man movies.. the projector in the theater messed up and for several minutes the film with either split screen or mangled.... all with a roomful of testosterone-hyped males intent on seeing their hero in action. Nothing bad happened but there was a lot of jeering and yelling... "Not a good time to mess up..." was my thoughtSpider-man, Iron-man or any other 'Superheroes' movie.
you said you kept an aprtment in nYC while you were travellig all around Europe... but in 1974 that surely was a different apartment to the one you live in now because you said in the past the apt you live in now is the one you were born in...What other apartment? Huh? No comprendoyou said you kept an aprtment in nYC while you were travellig all around Europe... but in 1974 that surely was a different apartment to the one you live in now because you said in the past the apt you live in now is the one you were born in...
That's always true at this time of year--summer, they just want to appeal to teens.Never saw the Barbie movie. I basically love movies and have seen most of the most famous ones. I do think that at this point it is a more or less dead art form, with nothing but superheroes, sequels, cartoons, etc. We thought about going to a movie this weekend but there is absolutely nothing worth seeing at any theater.
oh forget it we've taken this thread far to far off topic.....Huh? No comprendo
Your thread. Shame on you!oh forget it we've taken this thread far to far off topic.....
Not shame on me...I'll bring this up on another thread you can be sure of that !Your thread. Shame on you!![]()
Feels like you're holding an investigation. I know you a long time now.Not shame on me...I'll bring this up on another thread you can be sure of that !
No investigation... just confused..... like I say...this is completely off topic.... it'll keep for another thread....Feels like you're holding an investigation. I know you a long time now.
It seems to me that it's true all year round. The "big" movies 50 years ago at this time included Shampoo, Godfather Part II, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Dog Day Afternoon, and others. There were definitely some bad films but nothing like today. No Harry Potters
Birth of a Nation--and probably never will, since I've hears it's so racist.

I actually watched the Barbie movie and it was... cute. I wouldn't call it great, but I had some fun watching it. It helps that I'm a fan of Margot Robbie.Never saw the Barbie movie. Agreed. But oftentimes the violence or gore is not necessarily gratuitous-- it may fit right in with the story or action, but I don't like watching it. That's one of the two reasons I don't watch contemporary horror movies.this is a problem for me also I hate gratuitous violence almost as much as I hate sloppy romance
I would say no...I thought I'd seen most major movies, but looked up blockbusters in the last ten years and found I've missed several. Several I don't really have interest seeing.
Inglourious Basterds
ZombieLand
Tropic Thunder
Life of Pi
Hugo
Super 8
Fast Fall 007
Are any of the above really considered blockbusters, though? Meh.
