What movie traumatized you as a child?

"House on Haunted Hill" came out in 1959, was that it? That has always been one of my favorite movies of all time.
Oh, me too. I had to sleep with the lights on for weeks. My mother was madder'n hell at my grandmother for taking me to see it. The scene with the hanged woman outside the window was the worst!

The other one was "20 Thousand Leagues Under the Sea". My dad and I went to see it while we were on vacation at the beach and the giant octopus ( squid?) scared the behoozits out of me. The next day, I was in the water and a big piece of long stringy seaweed wrapped around my legs. I screamed so loud they thought a shark must have got me. I wouldn't go deeper than my ankles the rest of the vacation.

the funniest horror movie i ever saw was the 1922 movie Nosferatu. that cracked me up. my father was looking at me and going..."to us this was really scary when we were kids." he was grinning and that made me laugh even harder.

I must be abnormal because no movie ever traumatized me. I mean, a movie is fake. But, when I was in my forties I saw the Blair Witch Project and had trouble hiking in the woods for quite a bit afterwards.

When I was younger, Jaws was a bit scary. Now looking at all those old movies is amusing. Special effects have advanced so much that it makes some of the older movies look like a joke. Then again, some stuff looks too real now a days. Lol

No movies have ever traumatized me either but some definitely trigger me. My husband and I watch the opposite type of tv shows. If nobody gets killed in the first 3 minutes, he’s not the least bit interested.

Another one:
The picture of Dorian Gray

We had a painted portrait of my mother in the living room; I was afraid to look at it when I walked by, as it looked like her eyes were following me.
YES! That is the first movie that came to my mind.

Another one is "Motel Hell". Bacon made out of Motel residents.
