I'm pretty sure all The Mamas and The Papas were born in Calif.
The Beach Boys were, too.

Other Cali musicians include Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Eagles, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Van Halen, The Grateful Dead, The Doors, Metallica, and Snoop Dog, and a bunch more.

I don’t live in a state. I live in the province of Nova Scotia and here is the music they are known for..

Nova Scotia is internationally renowned for its rich Celtic and Folk music traditions, deeply rooted in Scottish and Irish heritage. The province is particularly famous for Cape Breton fiddle music, lively ceilidhs, and maritime folk songs. Key influences also include Acadian music, country, and a vibrant rock/alternative scene.

Actually, of that group (can't stand 'em!!), Michelle was the only one born in CA.
Denny D. was from Canada. The others were from other U.S. states.
