What Packaging Do You Have a Problem With?

I just did that, thanks. They cost over 17.00 and are sold out too. I would not buy them unless they cost much less.
Even a pair of cheap standard kitchen shears will work great, Ruthanne.

Check the kitchen isle where you shop next time. I've seen them for $6 - $9.

Here is a set of kitchen shears sold at London Drugs for $5.99

Yes, Marge I agree and just posted above that I've been using my large scissors on some of the packaging. Thank you.:)🍄

Anything vacuum packed.. where it says ''pull here''...it never will open for me..like bacon or ham packs...so I always have to cut them open which defeats the object because they're supposed to be self sealing once opened..

Also with jars , I use rubber gloves to give me a good grip to twist......

a can with a pull top, I just slip the end of a soup spoon into the hole and bend it back..

The major problem is Childproof caps... with meds you can ask the pharmacy for normal caps... but you can't ask for them on Bleach or any of the amount of cleaning stuff in the supermarket..

Yes cleaning products can be a major PITA to get open.

Vacuum sealed packages are very difficult for me as well.

I don't mess with the packaging. I immediately cut the package open using shears or a knife. Then I pop what is left into an appropriate sized zip lock bag.

For jar lids, I have a thirty or so year old Gilhooley that never fails me.

What is a Gilhooley?

Some over the counter drugs are sealed in plastic on cardboard backing and are almost impossible to extract. Even chewing gum packages are wrapped in thin plastic and I have to open them with manicure scissors. In the old days there was a different color plastic string to pull at the top of the package. Now I don't see one at all. (It might just be my poor eyesight.)

the ones they have anymore are almost the same shade as the product.

I don't know what these manufacturers are expecting of us anymore. I wish they would try to make it easier for us.

I bought a double bladed utility knife which even has a saw on it. I am sure this thing could land me in jail if I walked around with it in my pocket. But, it gets the job done. For vacuumed tops, I still slip a butter knife under the edge and pop them.
