What part of your house accumulates daily clutter?

In the foyer. I always wanted this area kept clear. Found that some people who came over needed a spot to sit when dealing with their shoes, so I set out a chair. Now my purse, maybe a coat or scarf end up on it. It’s a handy drop point. My paper stuff ends up in the office right near the foyer. If I don’t look in there, there’s no clutter. DH sees it every day. He says nothing; he’s a good/smart man.

Clutter happens for a couple of months after we've moved from one place to a new one. These past few years as we've been staying put for a while it hasn't been much.

However, we dove into an every room decluttering from July 2022. One room at a time. It was chaos and heartbreaking. Overall that's general clutter but rare.

Daily clutter that's got to be the kitchen as with the weekly laundry and daily dishes, it does get crazy. However, we force ourselves to clear it up before night each day.

My chair. It where I listen to music, read, and so on. So everything I'm interested in, however fleeting, is drawn toward it with some weird type of magnetism. Every now and then I'll snap out of it, realize it's a mess, clear it out. But it's only a matter of time before it gets cluttered again.

My desk. After being in the military for 30 years, I still get a ton of snail mail and emails. I try to answer as many as possible, which isn't always possible. What doesn't get answered today gets a second glance and it's either considered a "hold over until tomorrow" or "waste basket."

I get a lot of mail that I can't answer for one reason or another.
