What season do you most like to put up decorations.

Maybe it is time for me to start giving my Christmas decorations to my grandkids too. The ones they might like are pottery and heavy, which means $$ for shipping. They’re not even married. They probably just want things their parents might give them or stuff from Costco.

I do minimal decorating for Christmas; that’s it. Rather than hanging outside lights, I put a lit display in the front window.

I'm not entertaining for Christmas, but sometimes someone will stop in for a few minutes. I have some large plastic storage boxes with snap on lids to protect Christmas arrangements from dust, so they still look new, and a small artificial tree with lights. I can and have brought those things out to brighten up the living room, but the whole experience takes about 15 minutes tops, so it's not considered serious decorating.

I usually put out some mums and a pumpkin for fall. I still do a bit of decorating for Christmas. I have some small trees and some old, treasured ornaments some of which belonged to my grandmother. It is getting about time for me to pass those along!

I tend to put something up for most seasons/holidays to make things a little different in the house. I don't go overboard, because what you put up, you have to take down. Somethings are out year around & with only a few changes made to them to fit the season. I like for decorations to be multi-holiday/seasons if they can.

I'll start with the fall decorations here in September which will be added to for Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving, I'll switch to Christmas. Not much to do through winter, but around March/April I'll put out a few spring things to bright up the house.

I love the colors of the Autumn season best. But I do very little decorating anymore. The problem with decorating is if you put it up then you have to take it all down sooner or later. And find a place to store it all.

Decorations are cheap. Many people just throw them away and buy new next time. It's boring to put up the same decoration every year anyway. But with the tariffs and inflation and environment, it may be better to scale down the decoration or reuse them now.

The only holiday I like anymore is Labor Day and not sure how to decorate for that...
I dont have much. Just one box. Im more fall and Christmas.
I do flags and red, white, and blue things. Also stars and pin wheels.
Works for Fourth of July, Memorial Day, and Labor Day.

Im boring. :D I like my old familiar stuff. But then Im partial to old and vintage stuff.
I have scaled down though and sold off some of my holiday hoard.

Dear wife loves to decorate house for fall and Christmas. On September 1st each year I have to get up in the attic to drag down tote boxes full of all variety of fall decorations. It takes her about one full day to get everything set in place. There is so much she has to take pictures so she will remember where she had everything set out in previous years. I don't think there is one room in the house including the bathrooms that doesn't get at least a few decorations.

Then, the day after Thanksgiving, she makes me get the tote boxes out of the attic and she then loads up the fall decorations and down comes the even more tote boxes with all the Christmas decorations. It probably takes her three days to get all the Christmas stuff set up. I do the outside decorating which only takes about an hour. Again, she decorates every room in the house for Christmas and I have to admit that it sure looks festive. I am glad that she gets so much enjoyment decorating for the seasons.

The bad part comes after January 1 when all the decorations have to come down. It is not nearly as much fun taking all this stuff down and packing it away as it was getting it put up. Wife then grumbles about how much work it is, and it seems to be twice the work taking it down as it was putting it all up.

The kids and I went all out decorating and baking for holidays, especially Christmas. Every room in the house was done up to the max. We had a tall singing Santa in the foyer. Tacky, yes. But not to kids. I started preparing for Christmas, in earnest, on July 5 every year. It was a huge production, basically, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Most importantly, so did the kids.

Now I don't care much about decorating for holidays. It is one thing to go all out for kids who believe in Santa, making the magic happen for them. It was quite another when letters to Santa evolved into shopping lists.
